#Delaware’s economic development efforts have secured a $62 million investment by Pepsi Beverages Sales, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of PepsiCo, to establish an upgraded facility in Claymont. The new site, located in the same county as the previous Wilmington facility, will retain 216 existing positions and create 77 additional jobs in the state, playing a key role in expanding the entity’s Northeast warehousing capabilities. PepsiCo will complete multi-million-dollar renovations to the leased 359,000-square-foot space and make significant investments in new equipment to enhance regional operations and support growing demand. In addition, the site will serve as a key hub for supporting manufacturing sites across the region. Delaware Prosperity Partnership collaborated with PepsiCo to secure the Claymont location and connect the company with state resources, including $2,887,000 in state Council on Development Finance grant funding from the Delaware Strategic Fund. https://hubs.ly/Q02_ZtQd0 #ChooseDelaware #NetDE

It looks like PepsiCo is closing a Chicago bottling plant in the coming months. I have been seeing more and more movement in the food and beverage sector as companies close locations due to production limitations. Are we more likely to see this in the future as older facilities phase out and we move more toward automation? #manfuacturing #manufacturer #food #foodandbeverage #beverage #industry #industrial

UK soft-drink maker Britvic plc has rejected a £3.1bn takeover bid from Carlsberg Group , saying the Danish brewer was “significantly” undervaluing a group whose brands include Robinsons and Fruit Shoot. Carlsberg made an initial bid of 1,200 pence per share earlier this month, before sweetening its all-cash proposal to 1,250p, which London-listed Britvic rejected on June 17. As well as producing its own brands, Britvic is PepsiCo’s bottler in the UK. Carlsberg is PepsiCo’s bottler in Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Cambodia and Laos. The brewer of Kronenbourg and Tuborg said the acquisition of Britvic would offer it “long-term growth opportunities”. It said it was considering its position after Britvic rebuffed its second bid. The acquisition of Britvic would offer Carlsberg the opportunity to expand its drinks bottling in Britain, for both alcoholic and refreshing beverages products. Interesting to see how all this plays out in the weeks and months ahead for both Carlsberg Group and Britvic plc and what potential wider impact this may have on the beverages industry, across both alcoholic and soft drinks categories. #carlsberg #Britvic #beer #softdrinks #alcohol Lars Jensen Jean-Philippe Delforge Paul Villis Carol Dunne Alison Wilkinson Thomas Hahlin Ahlinder John Savage Farrah Gilsenan Sheelagh Pentony Erlon Pereira Ian Chesworth Marc LEJEUNE Breda Kelly Francois Sonneville Stephen Rannekleiv Bourcard Nesin Jim Watson John Craven Bryan Roth Mark Gallo Erika Minaguchi Kristof K?nig Linda Chatton Gilles Halotel Jerry O'Keeffe Wayne Donovan David Deeley Brian Short Gwyneth Kelly

Consolidation of bottling assets in NARTD space continues with two latests deals done in the US within Coca-Cola and KDP systems Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling Company acquires Trenton Coca-Cola Bottling, Keurig Dr Pepper Inc. acquires Kalil Bottling Co. Atlantic will now have 10 territories serving customers in five states (Ohio, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin and newly acquired Missouri) Meanwhile, KDP "DSD operations will gain new bottling and distribution rights in?Arizona?to key KDP brands including Canada Dry, 7UP, A&W, Snapple and Core Hydration, servicing 7.4 million consumers and approximately 4,500 retail outlets" As bottling and distribution is relatively low-maring, high capex business, large bottlers will look for economies of scale in their recent acquisitions. This also goes in line with earlier consolidation moves within The Coca-Cola Company system in Asia #strategy #cpg #fmcg
