Being a good citizen means more than just voting. It means serving. We will lose our democracy if more citizens don’t step up and volunteer. It doesn’t matter if it’s the Arts Council, the Parks department, planning, zoning, city council, school board… just serve. It’s your duty as a good citizen.

Our country has every resource, talent, attraction, facilities, etc. The only thing we collectively lack is the civic sense. You scream at the top of your lungs, but everything you say lands on deaf ears. People make petty excuses to break the law. Some justify their act by naming the big public administrative offices they work for, or naming the relation they have with some random political figure and many more. We as citizens (educated) of this nation have failed the system. Everyone wants to save their time and money conveniently at the cost of others' time, money and rightful convenience. No point in raising questions about what your respective public representative or administrative system has done for you unless your hands are clean from cheating your own fellow citizens.
