???? ?????? ?????????? ???????????????? ???????? ?????????????????? ???? ??????????????? In the last 10-12 months, we’ve interviewed over 15+ candidates for internship roles. Out of these, only 50% were shortlisted, and surprisingly, just a couple showed up on the designated start date from the offer letter. While we managed to meet our workforce needs through other channels and mediums, it got me thinking—what was holding these talented, selected candidates back? So, I asked our HR team to conduct feedback sessions. The findings were quite unexpected where the primary reasons candidates cited for not joining weren’t related to stipend or work quality or distance. Instead, they mentioned the lack of an MNC style office & other aesthetic features. Is there a shift in focus from knowledge to comfort especially with young professionals entering the workforce? With increased demand and limited supply (given recent changes in articleship criteria), it's natural that candidates feel empowered to choose firms based on their preferences. Many now ask about client portfolios, expected training domains, and their potential career trajectory over the next two years. I respect and admire this forward-thinking approach—having a vision is essential, as it helps employers align with what young professionals seek. I request all the upcoming young professionals to prioritize knowledge and exposure above all else especially during the initial stages of your career. These are the foundations that will truly set you apart and fuel your professional growth. On that note, I'd like to congratulate all the recent CA Foundation and Intermediate pass-outs! You’re on an exciting path towards the final CA journey.
