CONFERENCE WRAP-UP POST Last week’s Training magazine 2025 conference was outstanding … and a series of reminders of our shared humanity (yes, even amongst all the discussions of how AI is changing our roles!). Several of my super-hero friends made the trip directly from ATD TK25 in Las Vegas to Orlando to lead pre-con events at Training. That’s a lot of commitment to the profession, ?and a lot of toll on the body, to run back-to-back like that. Thank you all, and I hope you’ve been able to rest up. Your participants LOVE your energy & insights. Take care of yourself, friends. I did something I’ve never done before: a live recording of the Tangents with TorranceLearning, the podcast I co-host with Meg Fairchild. With Jeff Weaver at the controls in Orlando and producer Dean Castile in Michigan, we made it work! Meg & I talked about strategies for getting the most learning benefit from attending a conference and took some questions from the live audience. 5 microphones, 3 cities, about 20 minutes … we made it work! Tuesday night, Training Magazine hosted a reception to honor Judith Hale’s contributions to our industry. At 84, she is speaking, writing, leading a team and making a difference. Talk about a legacy. #LifeGoals Wednesday afternoon, I led a workshop co-created with Lauren Milstid, M.S. called Design for Change. While this session fits within our #LLAMA? Agile Project Management framework, the techniques we shared in this session apply to any learning design & development project. The premise is this: since we know that our projects are increasingly subject to all orts of change, we can proactively design the work and the deliverables – and the team members themselves -- to be resilient. What made this super fun is that we got to use a program that Lauren and I designed, our AI Driver’s Permit, as one of the case examples for the workshop since we knew going into it that everything about the course is subject to change in this fast paced early emergence period. One participant even gave us a straight-6s rating on a 5 point scale! 6?? 6?? 6?? 6?? 6??
