Today, I have been to Doncaster to run an extensive on-site workshop with a client. We dived deep into the world of data infrastructure, engineering, the user journey, and data analysis. We spent a large part of the day engaged in detailed discussions, tackling various themes, and finalised significant decisions that will shape our data strategy moving forward. One of the challenges I often face during these intensive workshops is the inability to take detailed notes while fully engaging with participants. However, today I trialled a new sidekick, Otter.ai This AI-powered transcription and note-taking tool recorded our entire conversation, captured key details, and allows me to interrogate the text with questions to get answers fast. With Otter.ai, I was able to forget about note-taking and ensure that I didn't miss any crucial points or follow-up tasks. It also helps automate the storage of these notes in a centralised big data storage solution, providing a reliable record of our discussions and decisions. This is particularly useful if there are any disputes or questions about the next steps later in the project. Additionally, I'm excited to integrate Whimsical into my workflow. By passing the workshop's text output to Whimsical's AI tool, I hope to automate the creation of data workflow diagrams based on the decisions made during the session. This will significantly streamline the process of writing follow-up documentation, enhancing both productivity and efficiency. I highly recommend giving these tools a try if you're looking to boost your workshop productivity and efficiency. I'd love to hear how you plan to use them or if there are other similar tools you use in the marketplace!

Do you believe in the future AI will be able to facilitate? Yes, I strongly believe. I don't have an optimistic assumption like, "There will be left what only human can achieve." Technology can easily go beyond our imagination. But when we think about the advancement of technology, we must consider the context will be changing. In the era when AI can facilitate in place of human facilitators, our behavior will be entirely changed. Human may no longer have to discuss to figure out the problem, human may no longer have to work together in the work place. No logical discussion, no team building will be needed. No facilitators will be needed. If we face that era, we will miss unorganized, unproductive, disengaged meetings we used to hate. Facilitator's job used to make the discussion safe, creative, well organized, keep in track and lead the desired goals. But in the future, facilitator's job might be to remind human's nature in the meetings by evoking disordered, discordant, egoistic, unproductive situation intentionally, like "Oh, that's the way we feel we are human".
