Here are 10 safety tips for you: - Decorate costumes and bags of candy with reflective tape and wear light colors if possible. - Choose face paint and makeup instead of masks, which can obstruct a child’s vision. - Have kids carry glow sticks or flashlights to help drivers see them. - Avoid getting lost by establishing a route and sticking to it. - Have your child carry a discreet identification card in case they get separated from the group. - Cross the street at corners, using traffic signals and crosswalks. Make eye contact with drivers before crossing. - Turn your headlights on earlier in the day to spot children from greater distances. - Slow down and be especially alert in residential neighborhoods.
