TOKYOPOP PROMOTES LENA ATANASSOVA TO EDITOR IN CHIEF Former Brand Editor for LoveLove imprint will manage editorial acquisition, production and lead the expansion and continued diversity of TOKYOPOP’s publishing programs Los Angeles, CA – "Publisher TOKYOPOP has announced that it has promoted Lena Atanassova?to Editor in Chief. She joined TOKYOPOP in 2018 and most recently held the position of Brand Editor for TOKYOPOP’s all-inclusive imprint LoveLove. Under her leadership, LoveLove’s catalog has grown to over 100 titles, bringing a diverse range of romance content to fans across the globe. In her expanded role, Atanassova will lead the TOKYOPOP editorial team, managing production of all TOKYOPOP titles, including manga, light novels, graphic novels and further expand the brand’s catalog into burgeoning genres such as horror, manhwa and webtoon-originated titles. Atanassova also will lead the acquisition of new titles and manage the expansion and production of a wide range of manga and graphic novels based on licensed IP with partners such as Disney, Ubisoft and others. ? Atanassova played a pivotal role in conceiving and launching TOKYOPOP’s LoveLove imprint in 2020. Under her oversight, the LoveLove line made diversity and inclusivity central themes with titles focusing on straight and LGBTQ+ stories that reflect the enduring popularity of the romance category.
