Hello LinkedIn friends! Chen C. here, taking a short break from the Hybrid Meetings to talk about my experience in Bueng Kan.
During my week-long visit, I met with five farmers participating in our GAP coaching sessions. A significant challenge we observed is Tapping Panel Dryness (TPD), which greatly reduces latex production, impacting both farm productivity and farmers' income. Notably, two farms reported that 20-25% of their rubber trees were affected by TPD.
To better support the smallholders, our project partner, Koltiva, organised a training session with a rubber expert on effectively mitigating rubber diseases, including TPD. This training ensures our field agents can provide accurate and helpful advice to farmers. Our goal with the GAP project goes beyond coaching - we aim to address farmers' real challenges and equip them with practical, actionable solutions.
That’s all for today. Stay tuned for more updates next week!
