Planning any event, no matter how small, comes with its own set of challenges. Hosting the International Day of the Girl Child with Alora Reusable Pads, in partnership with AWA Initiative, was no exception. From getting approvals from the State Ministry of Education to coordinating logistics, it was a whirlwind of hurdles and last-minute adjustments. At times, the challenges felt enormous. I remember reaching out to potential partners and waiting on endless approvals, all while trying to ensure that every detail—from guest speakers to venue preparation—was on track. Logistics became another mountain to climb, from managing transport to ensuring we had the right materials ready for the event. And, of course, there were unexpected challenges along the way. But through it all, one thing was clear: nothing succeeds without a plan and a higher hand. We leaned on the support of incredible individuals like Dr. Ifeanyi and Ms. Natasha, whose donations made a world of difference. Partners like Dettol also stepped in to ensure we had the resources to make this event impactful for the girls. What I’ve learned is that successful event planning requires these key steps: having a clear vision, staying organized, communicating effectively with all stakeholders, and being flexible when things inevitably go off script. Most importantly, we committed everything to God’s hands. Without that, even the best-laid plans would fall short. As we reflect on the success of this year’s event, I’m reminded that every challenge is an opportunity to grow and make a lasting impact. #EventPlanning #IDG2024 #AloraPads #AWAInitiative #Dettol #YouthEmpowerment #FaithInAction
