Out-of-Area Relocation Hi there, Terry here with Brian Buffini's latest market update. According to the Census Bureau, people relocating out of state made up almost 20% of all movers in the last couple of years. That number was 25.6 million last year. Some of the reasons people are moving out of state? To be closer to family, moving from cold weather to warm weather, from states with higher taxes to states with lower taxes, or people finally make a decision to move where they’ve always wanted to live. In addition, work-from-home flexibility means many employees no longer need to live where they work. Before the pandemic, only 6% of employees worked remotely. Last year, 27% of U.S. employees worked remotely, at least part time. That is expected to grow to 36.2 million by 2025. In fact, 16% of U.S. companies are now fully remote.
