Dr. Talia Dor from Hadassah Medical Center, explored the science behind the latest Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy therapies and the precautions we must consider when working with these groundbreaking drugs. Ariel Hammerman, from Medison Pharma then tackled a critical issue: how can we make these costly treatments accessible to all? I just went through our pictures- and the essence of MPNE's work in 2024 must definitely look something like this ?? ?? We in MPNEurope work principle-based, principle No3 being DATA NOT OPINIONS. That doesn't only mean continuous education with training in reading scientific papers, scientific conferences and participating in research but also capturing the particular challenges and insights of our community in a systematic and structured way and to use that information to inform our strategies but also for advocacy. And in 2024, we did quite a bit of that ?? The Patient Consensus on Data, AI and data-dependent business models that we did within the iToBoS (Intelligent Total Body Scanner for Early Detection of Melanoma) project and that you can now also find on the EC Innovation Radar- it was an enormous piece of work but I'm incredibly proud both of the process as well as of the end product: https://lnkd.in/d3PURpt2 ?? We went back to our patient pathways in earnest, for CAYA patients in MELCAYA and adult patients during our recent #MPNEhubs2024 in Berlin. Patient forums are valuable 'sentinels' picking up what's not working in any healthcare system- patient pathways allow us to map that systematically and derive necessary actions for research, policy and other areas. ?? Methodology is critical when working in this way- we are an open community and work best in sprints, so methods need to be robust enough to tolerate that but apart from that, there is a lot out there we can test and adapt. In 2024, we made considerable progress on our #impact_assessments- no point of engaging if one doesn't keep an eye on whether it has any positive impact for our community, write-up coming Q1 2025 and we started on an exciting project on self-ethnography with the The Cynefin Company Sense-maker platform, so 2025 is bound to be exciting ? ? ? Also, the point obviously isn't to map for the sake of mapping- we just lost another one of our long-standing network members to #Melanoma, so this will turn into research projects, policy action and advocacy work, to come that step closer to a #cure4Melanoma https://lnkd.in/dSjx43Fj Thank you everyone who contributed to this enormous body of work- and for being the best possible and most amazing people in one of the world's worst possible clubs ??.
