Together with my colleague Emily Brooks, I visited The Illumina Innovation Day at Research Triangle Park yesterday organized by Matt Sergent and his amazing team. We received an update of Illumina's latest advancements in sequencing technology and multiomics assays. Matt Angel introduced the MiSeq i100 Series, highlighting its enhanced speed and simplicity for benchtop sequencing. Key features include: ??Accelerated Run Times: Delivers results up to four times faster than previous models, with sequencing run times as short as four hours, enabling same-day data delivery. ??Flexible Throughput: Offers various flow cell options, with the MiSeq i100 Plus System supporting up to 100 million single-end reads per run. ??Simplified Workflow: Features integrated cartridges and room-temperature reagents, eliminating the need for thawing and reducing preparation time.
