Job Information The Northwest Territories (NWT) has significant energy resources including hydroelectricity, oil, natural gas and a variety of alternative energy sources. The Government of the Northwest Territories’ (GNWTs) legislative and policy framework for energy is aimed at increasing the use of domestic energy resources, increasing the adoption of renewable and sustainable energy and reducing energy costs in the NWT. The Advisor will support this overall mandate through the provision of detailed policy and economic analysis, planning and reporting aimed at increasing the use of domestic energy resources, enhancing security and predictability of supply, and reducing long- term NWT energy supply costs. The Advisor leads energy policy development process through the applications of policy research, analysis, advice, development, implementation, and evaluation methods. The Advisor will seek out and provide advice regarding potential federal, territorial and/or non-government sources of financing for planning and development activities.
