?? This year’s theme for #WorldPatientSafetyDay is improving diagnosis for patient safety. But what do you do when identifying the underlying cause of symptoms is very challenging? ??? Children born with severe brain-based developmental disabilities frequently experience persistent unexplained periods of pain and irritability, often compounded by a limited capacity to communicate their distress. ???? In CHILD-BRIGHT’s Phase 1, our PIUO research project focused on reducing and resolving pain and irritability of unknown cause in children with severe neurological impairment. The team designed a systematic approach to address the management of children’s pain with the goals of reducing pain symptoms, improving the day-to-day lives of the child and family, and simplifying treatment options for clinicians: https://lnkd.in/eXRzzWvT? ?? Upcoming Webinar: Expand Your Knowledge on FND Functional Neurological Disorders are complex conditions that are frequently misunderstood. These disorders disrupt motor or sensory functions without an identifiable neurological cause, making them challenging to diagnose and treat. As a result, legal cases involving FND demand expert witnesses with a profound understanding of the condition and its complexities. To further support legal professionals, case managers, and medical experts, we are launching a series of webinars this autumn. The first in the series will focus on Functional Neurological Disorder—a must-attend event for anyone looking to deepen their understanding of this area. ?? Webinar: Understanding Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) for Medico-Legal Teams ?? Date: 17th October 2024 ? Time: 12:15 PM ?? Speakers: Michelle Kudhail, Mr. Rob Poppleton, and Dr. Edmund Bonikowski ?? Register: https://lnkd.in/emxinQ_y #FND #MedicoLegal #Webinar
