On this week's "Meet the Team" we are celebrating 2 birthdays, both working their magic behind the keyboard! Starting from our older Buss: Joerg, the mastermind behind Timpi network! ?? Job Title: Co-CEO Professional Background: Joerg has been a stalwart in Information Security for the past 30 years and has spent the last 9 years working in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. He has lectured at several universities and co-authored the BSI 100-1 to 100-4 standards in Germany and the ISO27001 standard. Recently, Joerg has been contributing to Ethical AI Frameworks. He is also the founder of Darkscope, a leading Cyber Intelligence business in the industry. What He Loves About His Job at Timpi: Joerg is thrilled by the exciting projects Timpi is working on and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact for everyone. Getting Started: Joerg's career in security began by accident; he ventured into the field when there were few others doing it. Why He Loves Timpi: He cherishes working with a team that has the potential to change the world. Personal Interests: ?? Hobbies: Playing PC games like Eve Online, Space Engineers, and Sub Nautica. Joerg also enjoys fixing things on his mini farm and driving his tractor. Fun Facts: ?? Joerg often jokes that, as a German, there's nothing funny about him. However, he was once told by a Kiwi that he's more Kiwi than many New Zealand-born people they know, which he takes as a high compliment. ?? Despite his german demeanor, Joerg has a hidden talent for dancing, including the Tango, which he learned from a young age. Would you rather play video games or dance Tango with Joerg? Lately, I've noticed a trend in my team: We've been focusing on fixing symptoms instead of the actual problems. ?? It's easy to fall into this trap. We see a drop in productivity and schedule more meetings, or notice customer complaints and offer discounts. But those are just band-aids. They might offer temporary relief, but they won't address the root cause of the issue. To truly solve problems, we need to dig deeper. We need to ask ourselves: What's causing this symptom? What underlying factors are contributing to the problem? What would happen if this symptom disappeared? Would the problem still exist? It's not always easy to find the root cause, but it's worth the effort. By understanding the real problem, we can develop effective solutions that create lasting change. And even more importantly, once we've solved a problem, we need to take steps to make sure it never comes back. This might involve changing processes, implementing new systems, or providing additional training. It's about creating a sustainable solution, not just a quick fix.

No Accountex for me this year I am afraid. FOMO has not kicked in either. The team are focussed on moving to a planned workload system, from the historical first job in first job out with filing deadlines bumped up the queue. We are also about to enter into a trial working with an AI solution for some of our more repetitive tasks. KPI's are in place and at the moment we are trying to push through the valley of despair. The last thing that the team need is me to go to an industry exhibition and come back with more suggestions for improvement and changes to implement. I have learnt we need to stick to a couple of changes at a time rather than trying to do everything! When I refer to the valley of despair it is part of the emotional cycle of change.

Ended the month of April with these strong, highly engaged and adaptable team members. ?? ______________ After rolling out the updates on the AI assistance tool that we have, we've seen an increase on their launch rate and utilization rate on a week-on-week basis. What I love most is when they proactively communicate their feedback on which specific concern(s) has a discrepancy with our knowledge based tool; they're also not afraid nor intimidated to join calls with the clients on process-related talks. They understood the importance of having 'Alam' (knowledge) and 'Pakialam' (getting involved). I think the secret formula is to help them understand what's in it for them and constantly challenge their understanding and retention of information (example: spot checking). We're not perfect but we're a work in progress - that's all that matters to me. Happy Labor Day to everyone and may this month be a fruitful one! Cheers! ????

I’m always telling my team: get to where you want to be—faster. Corporate thinking says to sandbag your deals, keep that pipeline steady to hit your targets every month. In reality, this is just playing it safe and buying into the corporate game. If that’s you, my advice is simple: STOP!? Be the one celebrated for having the best month ever in your company’s history. Unless you're consistently breaking your own records, scrap “consistent” from your goals.? Consistency makes managers look good, not your bank account. You need to be pushing hard, hustling, and fighting for more—to build a life, take care of your family, and reach the next level. As an owner, I love consistently hitting our company-wide numbers, but I love when it's done by folks having their best month ever. Quit sandbagging your deals and have your best month....Every...Single..Month!

Hello everyone, hope you’re all doing great! I was reading an article & came across this powerful line: “The stronger the team, the stronger the company—and the better they serve their clients.” It got me thinking about what makes our team at NAFTech so special. Honestly, the backbone of our success is our team—plain and simple. At NAFTech, team meetings are more than just a checkbox. They’re our chance to connect, innovate, and learn from each other. Whether it’s discussing client needs, brainstorming ways to improve efficiency, or simply checking in on how everyone’s doing—both emotionally and physically—these moments keep us aligned and connected with each other. In fact, some of our best ideas at NAFTech have come from casual chats over coffee, which ended up saving huge money for our clients by cutting down on some unnecessary processes & sometimes delivering the project before time by just optimizing our manufacturing cycle. When our team is strong, our projects flow seamlessly, and our clients get the best results. At the end of the day, quality at NAFTech isn’t just a goal—it’s who we are. If you’ve made it this far, I encourage you to take a moment to appreciate your own team. Let them know how valuable they are, because when a team member feels valued, their commitment is unmatched. Happy teams deliver great results, and great results mean happy clients. And happy clients? Well, that’s happiness returned to you. It’s simple math, really! Food for thought! Whats your take on this? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.

I hear this often: "It sounds like our company would love to work with your team, but we're not sophisticated enough yet." There's many misconceptions about what we do, but this is one of the biggest. What people don't understand is that what we're able to do & how we do it for our clients might look extremely sophisticated, but it's only possible because our data platform and and expert team work tirelessly perfecting the simplest, most boring, most fundamental things. "Non sophisticated" companies are exactly the ones that would benefit the most, and see the biggest wins. Want to measure & bid for true incremental revenue? Bonsai's got ya. Sound fantastical? It is. Does it feel out of reach? It always does before you start. Can you do it? Of course. Our secret sauce? It's not what you think. It's simple. Boring. Fundamental. Like ?? ??♀?.

Sometimes it's ok NOT to thank your team Instead try this: Listen to what their biggest challenge is Repeat the details back to confirm you have accurately heard what they say Acknowledge their frustrations and efforts in dealing with this Ask what they need. Do what you can to help: prioritise, support, mediate, connect as required And then: Lather, rinse and repeat as often as possible You may find this is a lot more effective than empty thank yous
