“Why should I donate?” Because donating to grassroots organizations like Yellowhammer Fund means resources goes back into the communities. It gives parents in need access to family support resources. It gives people the ability to minimize their risk of STIs and unintended pregnancy by having access to contraceptives. It builds community infrastructure and relationships by taking the time to get to know the people they serve as we travel to places often neglected by their government and mainstream organizations. Your donation funds an organization that doesn’t just talk about the harms of economic insecurity within our communities but also ensures that it’s pay model practices what it preaches. Fund locally. With the current state of affairs this week, we know it is easy to get caught in feelings of despair.
