It was a pleasure to host the bright and enthusiastic California Coalition for Rural Housing (CCRH) and Non-Profit Housing Association of Northern California (NPH) (BAHIP) interns at East Beamer Way yesterday! ?? Our team was thrilled to share insights and experiences with the new '24-'25 cohort as part of their Summer Retreat with the Affordable Housing Internship Program. The East Beamer Neighborhood Campus in Woodland, CA, is a comprehensive project that includes a 100-bed homeless shelter, 61 permanent supportive housing units, and a forthcoming 60-bed treatment center. This project serves as a beacon of hope, addressing the diverse needs of our unhoused neighbors through a suite of wrap-around services. Seeing the curiosity and eagerness of these interns to learn about the development process and our mission to provide quality affordable housing was truly inspiring. We believe that the future of affordable housing is in good hands with these dedicated interns! In January 2022, the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) launched California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM), a major reform aimed at improving care and outcomes for millions of Medi-Cal enrollees across the State of California. This marks a significant and crucial transition in healthcare services, encompassing various complex components. To facilitate this transition, DHCS began the Providing Access and Transforming Health (PATH) initiative, a five-year plan designed to bolster the capacity and infrastructure of community-based organizations (CBOs), public hospitals, county agencies, tribes, and others, enabling their successful engagement in the Medi-Cal delivery system in California. PATH aims to support California's endeavors in building, sustaining, and expanding the capacity required to implement the CalAIM Program effectively. The PATH TA Marketplace serves as a valuable resource, providing funding and support to providers, community-based organizations, counties, and others, thereby facilitating the enhancement of infrastructure for the implementation of Enhanced Care Management (ECM) and Community Support initiatives.
