Everybody can do culture marketing. Until they can’t. #culturemarketing is definitely a thing in 2025. Most of it is also really bad: random activations with randomly picked artists, just adding layers of shallow relevance signalling that do more to cover than actually highlight the brand they are supposed to elevate. From my experience, this is mostly tor three reasons: ① A product that is simply too detached from any sort of culture ② Marketers and agencies, still, not understanding the worlds they are operating in ③ The quantification of cool, which has created enormous pressure inside corporations to get talent with the biggest possible reach for your budget and has left little space for any sort of sensible/inspiring storytelling – you basically just take who you can get and hope for “culture” to happen Clarks’ 200 years anniversary campaign is a notable exception here – and then some. ?? Deeply rooted in the company’s history ?? Super on-point talent selection ?? Starting with story and style rather than jumping to “numbers” for numbers’ sake straight away Also, one should never forget that Clarks are good for the summerr AND the winterr, and that the leather on them tends to be exceptionally hard while the suede is really soft. I truly look forward to seeing what will come out of this. (Great litmus test for culture marketers btw: Can you imagine a consumer ACTUALLY saying this?)

When we, the journalists and media personnel, are being biased, benefited or paid somehow for such assignments/ reports to intentionally expose all the negatives of a person, group, community, and/or state of target! Are not we and the power/ masterminds behind our fake/ false, reports, statements and propaganda tainted with unethical practices and against morality and/or humanity! If we, the reporters / media personnel ourselves, were really of moral character, sincere, honest and responsible enough about our professions , then why could we not speak with minimum impartially about the global political leaders who are accused and well known for committing crimes against humanity! We rather suppress all their ill motives, evil deeds with naked support , hypocrisy, double standard role, and thereby defending them and their evil deeds, always telling a lie with fake confidence, pride and even acting otherwise offensive from behind and behind the screen/scene secretly and cowardly! https://lnkd.in/g4qK-qZP
