I get the urge to cut off people who you’ve recently realized don’t seem to share your values. Let me offer a suggestion… Ask them why they voted the way they did. Don’t argue, just listen. Because we will continue to lose if we have no understanding of what messages the opposition is using to move people, particularly people who we may be surprised voted the way they did. Hell! Talk to your folks who stayed home and ask them why, ask them what they care about that would have gotten them to make a different decision. And then get organized. There are groups across the country who have been doing this work well before the election and will be doing it well after. If you’re angry, tired, afraid, etc. you can not change the outcome by staying home quietly. So learn from your folks and then come together with other folks who are strategizing for the next four years and beyond.
