I am excited to share two updates: 1. I started an internship in May with a federal district judge at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. This experience has significantly contributed to my legal education and future career by strengthening my legal research and writing skills while providing valuable courtroom exposure. 2. CHASE STUDENTS went shopping Wednesday ? for opportunities to volunteer in law-related activities. The Pro Bono Fair, organized by the Chase Office of Career Development, was an opportunity for students to connect with agencies, such as Legal Aid of the Bluegrass, to find out how they can apply their developing legal talents for people who need legal assistance and agencies that provide it. Chase is among a small number of law schools that require students to provide a specified amount of pro bono service, both to help their communities and to develop mindsets for what will become their professional obligation for pro bono work.

The impact of SLC is significant and impressive, especially in the legislative battles made for minority groups in Florida. When talking to Chelsea about her reason to move to Florida and work in a nonprofit, she responded that Florida is especially vulnerable and in need of minority protections, I agree with the sentiment." MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO WHILE INTERNING WITH SLC: Interacting with clients, understanding the whole process from taking a case to going to court CORE BELIEF: Social justice relies upon the sacrificial and passionate spirit to make changes. FUTURE GOALS: I see my career in three directions, criminal, intellectual property/copyright, and health care law. Apart from being interested in the topics, those are fields that can have profound impact on people whether it be individual or community wide.
