Volunteers from the Saint Francis Hospital Auxiliary recently attended the Auxiliary of West Virginia Hospital Association (AWVHA) Conference at the Greenbrier Resort to collaborate and celebrate projects and volunteers of the year. This year, Saint Francis Auxiliary won Service Project of the Year for its work with Catholic Charities to assemble bags including necessities such as washcloths, lip balm, shampoo, and soap for individuals experiencing homelessness. We are proud of our volunteers and thankful for their positive impact on our patients, caregivers and the community. ?? ?? ?? ??

WVU Medicine Thomas Hospitals today announced the purchase of a new mobile mammography unit to serve southern West Virginia. In partnership with the WVU Cancer Institute Mobile Cancer Screening Program and with funding from Aetna Better Health of West Virginia, Bonnie’s Bus 2 will build upon the success of Bonnie’s Bus, which provides breast cancer screening across the state with a focus on rural areas with limited or no access to screening mammography.
