Terrorist organizations have also enhanced their approach with the changing times. In the past, they would attack anything and at any time. A small-scaled attack with less or no loss would be considered as their weakness. Unlike past, now the militants keenly observe if the timing and area are suitable for the evil job they plan to carry out. Academically speaking, #counterterrorism experts say that terrosim is a communicative act. Terrorists try to send a message to their targeted audience at local, national & international level as is the case. The September 23 #Malamjaba #Swat terrorist attack is one case in point. One can assess how sharp these militants are that they carried out the attack on a police convoy while it was escorting diplomats from several counteries to a tourist area there at. The message must have been resonated in international capitals by now. This advanced approach of militants makes it mandatory to have effective and comprehensive counter terrorism strategies in place. Proactive counter terrorism policing; effective liason with local communities and enhanced tech surveillance should be a priority. This is impossible without collaboration and enhanced counter terrorism ties between nation-states.
