Dr. Glaucomflecken never disappoints! Great graduation speech with equal parts humor and wisdom. He spoke about the inevitability of making mistakes and importance of talking about them - we are all human. Highlighted the challenges of residency, but also the rewards. The realistic message that you truly have to get through your training as the prerequisite to help to change medicine - it isn't something these medical students can likely do immediately. A rarely emphasized message in the medical field, he called out the importance of keeping a connection to your creative side and dedicating time to nurture it (which can include creating comedic videos). And he ended with message about the power of advocacy to make a difference and a plea have some fun while traversing down the long path of your medical career. Well worth a listen, my summary doesn't do it justice and doesn't capture the awesome humor sprinkled throughout (like the funny plot twist that Michigan was his top residency choice, yet he didn't match there, but now was invited back to give the graduation speech!).
