Last Friday, I had the extraordinary privilege of attending the Women of Excellence Award Dinner—an evening brimming with celebration, inspiration, and empowerment. Surrounded by women from diverse fields, the event was a powerful reminder of the progress we've made in breaking down barriers that once constrained women from thriving in traditionally male-dominated roles. Fields like technology, finance, corporate leadership and even politics have historically posed challenges for women forging their paths. However, the Women of Excellence Awards underscored that these barriers are not just being challenged but actively dismantled with every achievement and accolade. As a woman deeply embedded in the tech industry, this event held profound personal significance. I've witnessed firsthand the transformation within my own field. As a leader, I'm committed to not only advancing my career but also uplifting others. This commitment translates into mentorship initiatives, advocating for equal opportunities, and cultivating inclusive environments where every voice is valued. To me, empowerment means fostering environments where women can authentically thrive—where their skills and contributions are recognized and rewarded on equal footing. It means confronting stereotypes, championing diversity, and actively pursuing gender parity in leadership roles. These principles were not just discussed at the Women of Excellence Award Dinner; they were embodied by every honoree, speaker, and participant. Last night our CEO Viviane Paxinos hosted a conversation with Edwina Dunn OBE, a leader in the data industry, author of 'When She’s?In?The?Room' and Founder of The Female Lead. Edwina shared how unlocking women's potential can change the course of business, economies, and communities for the better. Here are one of our attendees Jessica Compton's takeaways from the event: ?? Women are not a 'nice to have' in the workplace, nor are they a minority in society. This deserves greater recognition and businesses should see the opportunity to transform through the power that women can bring. ?? Know yourself and tell your story. Understand your skillset, emotional drivers, qualities you admire, role models, the life you want, etc. Leverage this to move forward, back yourself, and be proud. ?? "Don't diminish yourself, because it diminishes all of us". Edwina referenced this as one of the most important lessons from her career. Stop self-effacing, recognise the hard work and effort that has gone in to get you to this point and share that. Tilt your language to be loud and proud. As International Women's Day approaches, it's important to recognize and celebrate the achievements of women across all industries, including consumer packaged goods (CPG). The CPG industry, specifically in the healthy snacks sector has seen a surge in female entrepreneurship and leadership in recent years. Women founders in the CPG industry have been instrumental in driving innovation, creating products that cater to diverse consumer needs, and reshaping the market landscape. From artisanal food brands to eco-friendly skincare lines, women-led companies have been at the forefront of introducing new concepts, flavours, and ingredients to the market. Highlighting women founders in the CPG industry not only celebrates their accomplishments but also serves as inspiration for aspiring entrepreneurs and future leaders. I left this event feeling more inspired than ever. Wow! I’ve been to my fair share of networking events in the past, but yesterdays FutureTalk_Berlin revolving around the importance of female leadership stood out! The panel, consisting of Anastasia Barner, Magdalena Pusch, Victoria Effer & Christina Aue, moderated by Jeanette Okwu, touched on topics important for every woman in leadership roles or aspiring to get there - and if we’re being honest, majority of women in general. Be that ?? Women receiving major backlash for standing up for their opinion and making themselves visible on social media ?? Women being the ones putting other women down more often than men do ?? “Fake Female Founders” who portray themselves to be pro women empowerment, yet doing everything in their power tearing others down to win ?? The underlying competition between women, instead of simply uplifting each other and winning together ?? The importance of saying YES when someone gives you a chance, even if you don’t feel quite ready for it yet I was especially inspired talking to Carmen Jenny & Eva Johanna Egg about putting yourself out there, daring to be seen and not making oneself appear smaller than one is - too often, when we talk about our accomplishments, we say things like “yea but it’s not even a big deal”, or simply put things down using our body language. As if we’re not allowed to be proud of what we’ve done. It’s ridiculous! A huge shoutout to Allan Grap and the whole BETTERTRUST for selecting a fantastic panel and creating an athmosphere for women to share, discuss and inspire - I haven’t felt this empowered in a long time! #femaleleadership #femaleempowerment

The energy that was in this room was electric. The women that showed up SHOWED up fully. It was a true honor to serve at the Indy Chamber Women in Business Retreat last week. What I know to be true every time I speak is that no matter the roles you play, the titles you have, or the positions you hold, we are human beings first. I am so grateful to be asked to speak and share different parts of my story with different audiences. Being vulnerable is my strength and by displaying that, it allows for others to show their strength by being vulnerable. It is a huge reason WHY do what I do. Remember, your people are people first, not just their to fulfill their role so that the company hits quota. See them. Hear them.
