Let's pause and consider a different approach to building genuine connections. Think about this... Instead of striving to impress others with our achievements, let's shift our focus to something more powerful: genuine curiosity about others. Imagine the impact we could make if we listened more, asked thoughtful questions, and expressed genuine empathy towards those around us. Let's step out of our comfort zones, attend community events, volunteer at local charities, and engage in conversations with strangers we meet along the way. Authentic connections are built on a foundation of mutual respect, understanding, and empathy. Let's embrace this truth and foster meaningful relationships that enrich our lives and the lives of those around us. What's one small step you can take today to cultivate more authentic connections in your life? We talk a lot about using employment information to uncover match-eligible donations, but what are the other use cases? Something that I see a lot of nonprofits doing is also using that employment information to source new corporate partners. ?? Why? Companies want to support the interests of their employees, so showing any pre-existing connections makes your partnership request compelling. As the year-end giving season inches closer and closer, now is the perfect time to scan your donor employment data to see if there are any hidden partnership fits. ??? I want to hear from you... ?? Have you been able to source new corporate partners through your donor's employment data? ?? What other approaches have you found to be effective in sourcing new partners? Let me know below. ??Would be great to know your thoughts on how you source corporate partners and grow those relationships, Robin Webster, Nigel Fuentes!

“Community” can be such a junk-drawer word. “We offer community” “Our company is a real community” “I’m looking for community” What are we really talking about? Most of my life and career has been devoted to building “community.” Starting businesses, churches, non-profits. I stopped to process the best groups of relationships I’ve experienced and found 4 key principles to a real comminity: 1. Real Community is rooted in sacrificial commitment - when someone gives up something without gain, that sacrifice runs deep to build real friendship. Commitment is counter-cultural today. Let your yes be yes. It speaks volumes to others. 2. Real Community is regular with shared leadership to make it regular - the difference between events and community is that events bring people together for a moment while community brings people together for moments over time. 3. Real Community is united by purpose that runs deeper than money, work, or things - that’s one of the reasons real faith communities stand the test of time. We are united by something WAY beyond ourselves. 4. Real Community is rooted in the equation of friendship over time - we give of ourselves for longer periods of time, especially when it’s hard and we gain nothing, because we care about the relationship and serving our friends.

Let me introduce you to Ginalne, a platform designed for you to create, share, and grow within communities. Understanding the Challenges Let's start by addressing some crucial questions: When you want to share your work or ideas, what's the first thing that comes to mind? Have you ever received meaningful feedback or responses from your customers, market, or audience? What method do you use to share your work? Do you believe the right people will randomly see your ideas and engage? How do you know if someone nearby is working on something similar? What are your strategies for finding interesting events and being invited to participate? How do you share your vision publicly and garner support? What measures do you take to build trust and prevent fraud in your projects? How do you find opportunities to support work that is open to investment or donation? How do you stay informed about productive activities happening around you? read more : https://lnkd.in/gAvXZryi

If you have a minute, I hope you will read about a different approach I plan to bring if I am elected to Portland City Council this fall. I sat in a meeting this week and shared why I am running with a business leader. The list included?housing & homelessness, addiction & public safety?and how our failure to address climate change will preclude lasting solutions for the previously mentioned crises.?Then they asked?“Sure Jesse, but that's what everyone is talking about. What makes you any different?” ? I like this question. The fact is, politics in America has become toxic. We are seeing that here locally. What should be political adversaries are considered sworn enemies. When a discussion could be held to find the least bad solution for all parties involved, too many start to shout as if their view is the only one that exists. Worse, our leaders use that as a reason to dismiss the concerns as invalid. ? When I talk about ensuring folks have a voice in the process, I am talking about those who must call tents home. There are some who believe by doing this, I don't care about the homeowner that may be adjacent to a tent. Yet I understand how one's purchased property may be their primary lifetime investment. Their concerns matter too. ? I continued to highlight the nuance in my thought process during this week's meeting, as I often do. The establishment doesn't want leaders who exhibit independent thinking, something I am proud of. But guess what? That means if I am going to get elected,?I need your help now more than ever. Interest groups will spend millions of dollars to elect their hand-picked city council, ones they think will best represent their interest. There's little chance that will be me because I want to represent the interest of all Portlanders. I am running under Portland's Small Donor Election Program, meaning contributions get matched by the city up to 9-1. That pot of money was reduced by 60%, meaning the maximum match that I can possibly get is $120,000. I hope as you compare that to millions, you will?consider a donation today. If you live here and have not donated, it will be matched. If you live outside of Portland, your contribution is still essential. ? No matter where you are,?will you consider asking at least five contacts of yours who in Portland to ask them them to give $5 or more to my campaign? While I can accept up to $350, the first $20 gets a match so it's a pretty big deal. Thanks for reading and for the ongoing support! https://lnkd.in/gWw3HV-h ?
I just gave to Jesse Cornett!
