Thank you, American Psychological Association, for highlighting these crucial points on World Mental Health Day. Today, we must pause and take a broader view of the problem. The issues we face stem from the pressures of "development." In the name of progress, are we increasing human suffering? How much more collateral damage are we willing to accept for ourselves and our children? Mental health is worsening globally, but are we addressing the root causes, or just applying temporary fixes? We need to put primary prevention at the forefront by teaching the 10 essential competencies: **Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills, Responsible Decision-Making, Problem-Solving, CBT, Positive Psychology, Mindfulness,** and **Resilience**. These skills help children and adults build positive core beliefs, equipping them to manage stress, which is often beyond our control. It's time for formal training and a "Mind 2.0" approach to equip children and adults with the mental software needed to navigate today's world.
Such a critical reminder from the American Psychological Association ! ?? Mental health is foundational to overall well-being, especially in high-pressure environments like the workplace. Prioritizing mental health isn’t just about self-care—it’s about fostering resilience, productivity, and long-term success. Let’s continue pushing for accessible resources and nurturing a culture where seeking help is seen as strength. ???? #MentalHealthAtWork #Resilience #PsychologicalSafety
I talk about my mental health often, because I have seen first-hand how it can impact my life, my friends, my families, and inevitably my communities. I have shared how in my life, the aftermath of workplace bullying took its toll on me mentally, as well as physically. It is never too late to begin to prioritize your well-being and not be afraid to ask for help. #mentalhealthmatters #worldmentalhealthday #workplacetrauma #compassionateconsulting
Happy World Mental Health Day! Taking even small steps toward self-care can make a big difference. Whether it’s setting aside time for reflection, connecting with loved ones, or seeking support, your mental well-being matters every day!
Prioritizing mental health is not just a personal choice, but a profound exercise of social responsibility that ripples through our interconnected lives. Practicing self-care is a generous gift of kindness that extends far beyond the individual. By embracing mental wellness as an essential form of self-care and implementing mental healthcare practices, people are able to develop vital skills, knowledge, and resilience needed to navigate life with grace and strength. The well-being of one affects the harmony of all. When individuals prioritize their mental health, they contribute to a harmonious, thriving ecosystem of human connection and support! Mental wellness is a personal journey and a social responsibility of the various social circles in which we live. We look for those circles to create experiences that foster happier, healthier, safer and more fruitful communities. By investing in mental wellness, we can unlock the full potential to live happier, healthier lives, becoming more resilient, productive and capable of enjoying life to the fullest. Our vision should extend beyond individual growth—and aim to cultivate a society where mental wellness is recognized as a pillar of individual and communal success.
You aren’t weak, you aren’t alone and even if it’s not tangible; it’s REAL. #worldmentalhealthday #onedayatatime
It’s sad that mental health is still not recognized in many parts of the world. In an aggregate sense, mental health can take a toll on the overall education and productivity in a community when individuals aren’t able to operate at their personal best. Even if the numerous reasons for mental health awareness as outlined in this post are disregarded, at least for the aggregate reason, mental health should be considered in a serious manner…
There was once a time I thought very poorly of myself, and now I love myself. When I was younger, I never thought that would have been possible. I am certain that there is hope for everyone ??
Here's a quote for Mental Health Day: Taking care of your mental health is not a one-time task, but a lifelong journey. Embrace your emotions, prioritize self-care, and remember: it's okay to ask for help. You matter. Happy world mental health day! Cypress Counseling & Wellness
