YOUR COMMUNITY’S CONCERNS – ARE YOU ADDRESSING THEM ON SOCIAL MEDIA? In today’s digitally connected world, community engagement has transcended traditional methods, evolving into a dynamic and interactive process predominantly taking place online. Police and fire departments, as well as other public safety agencies, frequently use social media platforms to showcase recent and upcoming events, department updates, and significant incidents like crimes, fires, and rescues. As is natural with human nature though, we all get fixated on the latest “trend” or topic, or attention grabbing subject, and that is all we talk about. For example, most agencies are trying to hire more staff due to significant drops in applicants and increases in retirements. This has led to the focus for some to be all about recruiting. However, we have to do better in terms of providing what our community wants to see, and not necessarily only what we want them to see. LEARN MORE ON THE TOC BLOG: https://lnkd.in/gY9YUauQ

We emphasize the significance of macro marketing as a process that creates these vital connections. I chose a career in recruitment because I have a genuine passion for helping others. Similarly, my involvement in rescue work stems from my desire to make a positive impact. Working as a recruiter at STG has been incredibly fulfilling because I have the opportunity to transform people's lives for the better. Likewise, being involved in rescue work allows me to play a part in changing the lives of every dog we save. But what exactly does it mean to help? Helping is the act of providing assistance and support to others, with the intention of making tasks or situations easier for them. It encompasses offering guidance, providing necessary resources, and offering emotional support, all of which are essential for fostering collaboration, personal growth, and community well-being. At Software Technology Group, we prioritize the well-being of our employees. We invest in their careers and are dedicated to helping them achieve their professional goals. Through continuous education and training opportunities, we empower our employees to reach new heights in their careers. Now, I'd like to turn the question to you. What is it that you need help with? Are you someone who enjoys helping others? And if so, what kind of assistance have you provided to your community?

From experience, I can say boldly that our communities need more than just programs and initiatives; we need to stay human-centred approach to transform our respective communities into a thriving environment where everyone feels empowered, connected and valued. _ Reminds me of a time when I found myself in a community that felt more like a collection of individuals than a cohesive group. Despite our shared goals, there was a palpable disconnect. People were hesitant to share their ideas, and a sense of belonging was lacking. It was during this time that I realized the importance of adopting a human-centred approach to community management. _ _ I then decided to host a casual hang-out, inviting community members to share their thoughts and experiences. To my surprise, the turnout was incredible! As we gathered, I noticed something magical happening: people began to open up. Stories flowed, laughter echoed, and for the first time, we truly connected. _ From that moment, I understood that our community needed more than just programs and initiatives; it craved empathy and understanding. I started to actively listen, encouraging everyone to voice their opinions and contribute to decision-making. We co-created solutions that resonated with our diverse needs through surveys, and slowly but surely, the community transformed. _ _ As we embraced this human-centred approach, I witnessed remarkable changes. Members felt empowered, collaboration flourished, and our collective impact grew. It was a beautiful reminder that when we prioritize people over processes, we create a thriving environment where everyone can shine. _ Now, I’m excited to share that I’ll be leading a discussion on "Adopting a Human-Centered Approach to Community Management later today on the Coterie Builders WhatsApp Community _ _ I invite you to join me as we explore practical strategies and share experiences that can help us build more inclusive and vibrant communities. See you in class.
