"The 40-year-old female shopper is a really strong demographic, and that demographic is just emerging in New York". As someone who identifies as a 'legacy cannabis person,' having grown and consumed cannabis since the late '90s, I founded Mainstream MaryJane to address the growing interest of the 'canna curious' crowd. In my role as a sales and marketing executive in the cannabis industry, I recognized the potential for significant growth within this demographic, driven by the plant's increasing normalization and destigmatization. This shift is already evident in New York, a hub for emerging trends, where some of the busiest dispensaries are catering to this rising group of consumers." Companies that are able to innovate and bend with the trends will survive this new age of consumerism in the cannabis industry. We live in an exciting time :) #cannabis #newyorkcannabis #sales #marketing

In 2023 I finally took my first trip to the big apple ?? & was shocked by the boldness of illicit shops with big green signs filled with products I recognize from top brands across the country. I’d heard the rumors but wasn’t prepared for it. The average traveler wouldn’t know that Jeeter hadn’t launched there yet or that a neon cannabis leaf is a red flag ?? that the store is unlicensed. Our fab analysit Mitchell Laferla dove into the trends in NYC vs the rest of the state thanks to questions from our partners like Kristen Winterbotham at PAX ?? We’ve done similar deep dives in the past across various markets digging into questions like do people actually lean towards discrete forms of use in urban areas (on average- yes!) and we see the trend continue with NYC’s love of gummies & one of the top national edible brands Kiva Brands, Inc. ranking highly in and out of the city. Interesting to see that in NY, vapes actually hold a slightly larger share of the pie ?? outside of NYC but overall vape sales are still higher in NYC. The NY market is still young. I can’t wait to see what happens on 4/20 next month ?? #cannabisbusiness #cannabisindustry #cannabis #nyc #cannabisdata #dataanalytics

As Ontario's cannabis retail landscape continues to evolve, it's crucial for retail store operators to understand the pivotal role of the Ontario Cannabis Store (OCS) in their survival and growth. Here's how OCS can make a difference and the challenges both OCS and retail stores face: 1. Distribution and Accessibility: The OCS serves as the province's sole distributor of legal cannabis products, ensuring consistent supply and quality across retail outlets. This centralized distribution model streamlines operations for retail stores, guaranteeing they have access to a diverse range of products to meet consumer demands. 2. Regulatory Compliance: Operating within the highly regulated cannabis industry demands strict adherence to provincial and federal laws. The OCS plays a critical role in ensuring that all products sold meet rigorous standards for safety, potency, and labeling, thereby reducing compliance burdens on retail stores. 3. Consumer Education and Awareness: One of the significant challenges in the cannabis industry is consumer education. The OCS invests in public education campaigns to promote responsible consumption and inform consumers about legal products available through licensed retailers. This initiative not only enhances consumer confidence but also drives foot traffic to retail stores. Challenges Faced: 1. Supply Chain Issues: While the OCS aims for seamless distribution, supply chain disruptions can occur, impacting product availability and inventory management for retail stores. These challenges require nimble solutions to prevent stockouts and maintain customer satisfaction. 2. Market Competition: With the number of licensed retail stores increasing, competition intensifies. Differentiating through product selection, customer service, and unique retail experiences becomes essential for sustained success. 3. Regulatory Evolution: The evolving regulatory landscape introduces complexities such as licensing requirements, zoning restrictions, and advertising rules. Staying updated and compliant demands ongoing vigilance and adaptation from both OCS and retail operators. Looking Ahead: Despite challenges, the partnership between OCS and retail stores is pivotal in shaping Ontario's cannabis retail future. By leveraging OCS's distribution network, compliance expertise, and consumer outreach efforts, retail stores can not only survive but thrive in this dynamic industry. Let's continue to explore how collaboration and innovation can drive success in Ontario's cannabis retail sector. Together, we can navigate challenges and seize opportunities to deliver exceptional experiences and products to our customers. #CannabisRetail #OntarioCannabis #RetailIndustry #OCS #ConsumerEducation #RegulatoryCompliance
