I recently had the privilege of attending a networking session for women, organized by our WIN committee, where our COO, Ginny Kissling, shared her inspiring 32-year journey with Ryan. It's not every day that we engage with senior leadership in such a meaningful way; hearing Ginny’s experiences, insights, and vision for the company was invaluable. She spoke at length on professional growth and work-life balance topics, and she enthusiastically answered all of our questions with energy and passion. My Key Takeaways from the Session Be Intentional in Your Career: Ginny iterated that the key to success is doing your best at what you are hired to do. Set clear short- and long-term goals, and create an actionable plan to achieve them. Regularly assess your progress and adjust as needed. Don’t wait for opportunities—seek them out. Volunteer for leadership roles, take on new projects and communicate your career ambitions to your managers. Prioritize Work-Life Balance: Ginny emphasized the importance of self-care to avoid burnout. She shared her routines for staying balanced and encouraged us to take time off, unplug, and recharge regularly. She highlighted Ryan’s excellent benefits, urging us to take full advantage of them to prioritize our well-being. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and I’m delighted that the rest of my team could join too. It’s yet another example of how approachable the leadership at Ryan is, and it speaks volumes about the strong workplace culture we have here.
