Great message about performance in the share below. There is a difference between wanting something and needing it. There are helathy and unhealthy elements to needing something. It is great to set out sights on goals and to want to achieve them. But it is not great if we absolutey need to achieve that thing weset our sights on, and for our own mental health to be dependant on it. Unhealthy needs are those that place uncessary pressure on achieving a goal, when if you fail, the consequences to your attitide when assessing your performance become unbearable. Rather drive yourself to reach for the stars, but enjoy the execution, and don't want it so much that you no longer can act effectively in the face of the pressure. High performers are able to step up a gear when the pressure is on, by navigating those pressure situations more effectively. It can be improved with practice, but most importantly, that happens when the enjoyment outweighs the pressure. Let there be self-love, self appreciation no matter the result And failure is not failure, it is an opportunity to reflect on what could be done differently next time. Wimbeldon, Tour de France and the Paris Olympics almost makes you forget about Euro 2024. A few things to remember... ? EURO 2024 will create a projected €935 million for the HatTrick programme over the next four years. ? This will be reinvested into the 55 national associations. that form part of the European federation ? The maximum amount of money a team could win is $30.43 million, according to UEFA, which occurs if a team wins all seven of its matches, which Spain did in 2024. ? With such a young squad, we look forward with anticipation to what Spain could achieve at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. ? Will Spain repeat their 2010 heroics, by winning the World Cup after their 2008 EURO 2008 success? ? Real Madrid C.F. have won the Champions league as well. Are we in a Spanish cycling era of domination that we saw between 2008 and 2012? Spain will be one of three countries hosting the 2030 FIFA World Cup, with the Bernabéu announced as the stadium that will host the final. Spanish travelling groups will be all over the football world, as their team's dominance is sure to be felt over the coming years. Irish Rugby.. Watching the Glasgow Warriors last night and this article it raised some questions and the need for some home truths- “Irish rugby has everything in place to be the most aligned rugby system in the world, yet there are clear signs that it’s been sorely lacking over the past four-year cycle and a lack of depth in key positions was obvious in Paris last October“ There are then questions around the IRFU’s crude commercialisation of the game alienating long standing supporters. Over hyping. Terrible athmosphere. It’s attitude to a range of issues from alcohol, concussion, gender and human rights. Does Irish rugby really challenge under performance on and off the field which should come with its new found commercialisation or is it still an old boys club albeit one the Irish tax payer subsidies? It’s true there’s excessive demand on tired players and poorer rugby but the golden period we have enjoyed in recent years may not last without the type of serious self reflection which preceded the professional era and which the IRFU is to be applauded for. Rugby is about more than money. Glasgow’s victory, a team with far less investment and hype than Leinster, really brought this out.

This first post Paris Olympics week is still carrying the buzz of excitement and inspiration! What was it about this Olympics that had many of us at hello?! Paris’ historic beauty is undeniable. In collaboration with the greatest sporting event on this planet, it was the first Olympics with full gender parity and delivered across 32 sports many magnificent moments, heartbreaking defeats, moving stories of the athlete’s pilgrimage to get there, fun entertainment (Snoop Dogg did not disappoint!), excellent “play by play” coverage and unity. For all of the upheaval in various parts of the world, the ability of the global sports communities to come together in respect and support, even in the throes of intense competition, was a master class in how to do it. -Lift one another up and celebrate the achievements -Learn from the experiences -Recognize the generations of Olympic athletes who came before and paved the way to be better, along with the competitors who pushed the level of performances to the highest and best in the moment -Appreciate all of it and the village of people who were an integral part of the journey While there were issues; some that could be quickly addressed and resolved, some that required an alternate plan and others that are still smarting from a questionable decision, the 2024 Paris Olympic Games captured our heart's and broke many records. #ParisOlympics #WaytogoUSA #lovewhatyoudo #teamwork #healthandwellbeing #LA2028
