I am #Hiring for a bunch of open territories at AMFM Healthcare. You may be wondering if you should apply or not. Here are some things I am looking for in the people I hire. 1) Authenticity. I want to see you for you, not what you think I want to see. 2) Passion, drive, and growth oriented. In order to thrive on my team you have to want more. Happy Friday ?? Isn’t hiring new talent just the best in #seniorliving ?? Finding new talent is tough right now for senior living and a lot of times we can feel the pinch of just needing a warm body to plug holes that our high performers can cover up. ?? But that is falling into the classic trap of kicking the can down the road and hoping it won’t bit you in the butt later ?? Instead we all need to work together to solve this labor challenge we’re facing and it starts at the community level ?? Hiring should not fall solely on the ED and business office to find new talent for clinical, maintenance, engagement, or even sales. ?? It’s the entire teams responsibility(per their employment agreement) to drive the success of the community and it doesn’t stop at hiring ?? Sales can market open positions during their outreach in the medical centers ?? Engagement can communicate with volunteers who may need extra paid hours ?? Maintenance can communicate with your vendors to see if they have a referral ??? The one thing we can’t do is continue to do the same thing an expect anything other than what we’re getting ?? Oh and honesty about what kind of employee you’re referring but that’s another post for another day ?? If we all work together we can build better teams and work through these challenges eficently ?? I have been on both sides of the table, and chairs so to speak, when it comes to Hiring, I have always hired folks with Vigour, Attitude and Potential,rest of the nity gritty of the role can always be built up. While Looking for work, I wonder if the age old process of judging prospective candidates is any worth, Hiring horizon needs an immediate radical shift, and needs to be dynamic and more contemporary. Five biases in hiring which is very common #One - Hire someone with a similar experience and from big brands . #Two - Hire someone who has a stable history of 3 years or 5 years . #Three - Hire someone who has performed in the past #Four - Hire a specialist #Five - Hire someone who has a lot of experience in the field. In my 20 years of hiring people Let me tell you There is no #winning formula All of the above points don't have any guarantee of performance because I hired a guy with no experience who proved to be great I hired a lady with lots of job change but she proved to be my best employee I hired a guy with lots of stability and experience but he didn't work So what should you look for Look for values , integrity, attitude, and hunger Rest everything falls into place if you have a great organisation and culture Agree ?
