Fundraising dinners…are they worth the effort? It depends on a number of factors but if you’ve got a strong support network for your charity then I’d say it’s definitely worth it. One of my charity clients raised just over ￡85 per guest at their last gala dinner. That may not sound much but let’s do the maths: After all costs are paid, if you have 250 people at your next fundraising dinner that’s over ￡21,000 raised for your charity. Worth the effort to give guests a fab evening and fund your charity efforts over the coming year? Collaboration with Positive Results is Possible

Does your merchant processing company donate to a charity of your choice? If they aren’t and that’s important to you like it is to me and most of your customer base reach out! Are you still paying fees for your own merchant processing? Could you think of something else that would be more beneficial than paying merchant processing fees how about paying yourself a little bit more money, or donating to a charity?

If you can, pause a moment and open the maps app on your phone. Take note of where you are right now - your physical location. Draw an imaginery circle at a distance of 14km away, and now look at what exists between here and there in each direction. How many people in this area need help and support? How many can you help? Not everyone, but at least someone. Now take a moment to think of where you're at in life. What's just ahead? And behind? Either side of you? How many people in your world right now that need some form of help? Again, you can't help everyone - but at least someone. What little can you contribute to those in need. On 11 August City2Surf gives you the opportunity to support a wide variety of charities. It's a 14km walk/run, and it will raise thousands of dollars, each one intended to benefit people who need your help. Did I just get out the wrong side of bed this morning, or is tipping culture getting out of control?! Making a donation via JustGiving and it defaults to adding a 17% tip WTF? What am I tipping for anyway? This "tip" isn't going to the charity - surely it's just going to the profits of the platform? If you don't want to leave a tip, they make you jump through hoops: 1) Move the slider all the way to the left? Nope, that just reduces the tip to 10%. 2) Click "enter custom amount"? Nope, that just reduces it to ￡1.50. 3) To actually just donate the amount you wanted to donate in the first place, you need to then override the ￡1.50 to ￡nil. I do understand it costs money to run these platforms but this seems to me a case of taking the p***
