In February last year this smiley faced person and I went in together to meet with a tech company around our idea. They even spelt her name wrong… We sat in reception in a fancy london office lobby with just a concept of supporting people and a dream. We laughed at the new identity given and yet it was ironic, because the people we wished to serve were often left with name badges they can’t simply detach. Which remain, well after a sentence - although not visible, they define you. ?? MOOD Community Beta Pilot is complete! ?? My heart is full, my mind is expanded and this feels like a really poignant moment ~ for both the women who joined the course four weeks ago, and for me personally. There has been so much to celebrate over the course of these four weeks. ?? New business ideas have come to light ?? Visions have expanded ?? Confidence has grown ?? New habits and routines have been cultivated ?? Friendships have been formed ?? Even new jobs have been accepted! But perhaps one of the most profound changes I noticed happen, was a collective shift in the way we define success. A realisation that for many of us, we have spent much of our lives playing by someone else’s rules, and that actually now, it’s time to write our own. When the way you see yourself and the world evolves, your circumstances and reality evolve with you. Our careers, workplaces, lives, institutions and constitutions are not fixed. They are constantly changing. But with practice, patience and the right people in your corner, we can be the ones to change them. ??
