More research is needed to develop targeted therapies specifically for children. This fact underscores a critical challenge in pediatric oncology. Today marks?#InternationalClinicalTrialsDay?! Why are this day and clinical trials so important ? Given the relatively?small number of children with cancer, participation in large (mostly academic) clinical trials is crucial for gathering enough data to improve treatment options. Many young patients have been part of these trials for decades, which has contributed to better cure rates for children with cancer in general. Today is a great opportunity to raise awareness of clinical trials and their role in better treatment.
