?? As a well-being leader, I'm inspired by how Simone Biles and other Olympians at their physical peak are championing mental health awareness. Their courage to speak openly about their struggles demonstrates that mental well-being is just as important as physical strength. In a world that often prioritizes peak performance, it's a powerful reminder that true success encompasses both mind and body. By sharing their journeys, these athletes are breaking down barriers and encouraging us all to prioritize mental health in our own lives and workplaces. Let’s take this as a call to action: Support each other’s mental well-being and foster an environment where conversations about mental health are welcomed. ???? #MentalHealthMatters #WellBeing #BreakTheStigma
The last few years of therapy and mental health work have turned Simone Biles into one of the most unstoppable forces in Paris during these Summer Olympics. https://ow.ly/2Rln50SR4SO

?? Business Ownership and Mental Health Running a business can be incredibly rewarding but also highly stressful. Entrepreneurs often deal with financial pressures, long hours, and isolation. These stressors can significantly impact mental health, leading to anxiety, depression, and even suicidal thoughts. ? Statistics show that males account for 75% of all suicides in Australia, with business owners facing unique pressures that heighten their risk . ? Common risk factors include mood disorders, relationship problems, and financial strain . ?? Be There for Each Other In this new financial year, let’s commit to being there for our friends, family, and colleagues who might be struggling. Here are a few ways to offer support: 1. Reach Out: A simple check-in can make a world of difference. Ask how they’re doing and really listen. 2. Encourage Balance: Remind them of the importance of work-life balance. Encourage breaks and downtime. 3. Offer Help: Whether it’s a professional referral or just lending an ear, your support can be invaluable. 4. Spread Awareness: Use your platforms to share resources and raise awareness about mental health issues and suicide prevention. ?? Let’s Make a Difference The start of a new financial year is a perfect time to reflect and renew our commitment to supporting those around us. By being proactive and compassionate, we can help ensure that everyone has the opportunity to thrive, both personally and professionally. ?? (Mental Health Awareness Week) Shared lessons from experiencing an existential crisis in my journey to adulthood (…still ongoing…??) People are more than the sum of our experiences. People are more than the limits of our behavioural outputs. Internal stories/patterns will not relinquish a craving for self-validation until, they're seen (by the us in ourselves) for what they are. Internal stories and patterns do and can relinquish. Crack open these sinking ships and emotions WILL bubble to the surface. Let them free. Bubbling-up raw emotions for hours, days, weeks or months is perfectly OK; Congratulations the energy is releasing!?? Getting help from people you know or organisations with people you don't….is VERY OK. There is more reward in this and less shame, than sometimes possible to believe. It's good to reverse engineer a linear path to the mountain top you want to reach. But within health of the mind, not all is linear. Open up to the emerging mountain tops aside, behind and atop-of or below you. These may also be very powerful spaces to be. #NoMindLeftBehind #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek

New Years' resolutions? Kids can set goals too! Setting goals is great for kids’ motivation, drive, gaining a sense of purpose, and learning important life skills. When goals are set and met kids build their self-esteem! Here is a great way to track a goal: - Decide on a short-term goal -Talk about it with your child as if it was like gaining a superpower. -Have your child draw a picture of a mountain and each time they meet a step in their goal, they can draw them climbing higher in the mountain! “I want to become more patient when I have to stand in line at school…” -Find ways to achieve it: “I’m going to take a deep breath and see how high I can count when I wait.” Goals should be realistic, attainable and aim to be met in a short time frame. Celebrate successes, be patient and change goals as you go if needed. You’ve got this! Visit us at caringworksforkids.com for children's positive mental health programs, activities and videos! Losing someone unexpectedly is a shock no one can prepare for. The emotional weight can be overwhelming, feeling like you cannot find your footing. Here are 4 simple tips to offer immediate support using Psychological First Aid (PFA) and help someone find their way back to themselves, so they can act effectively as they need during the crisis. 1. Acknowledge feelings: Acknowledge the person's experience, symptoms, pain, confusion, surreality, or whatever else shows up at that time. It's okay to feel the way they do. 2. Stay calm and present: In moments of shock, simply your presence offers an island to the survivor to stand on within the chaos. Even being there without fixing anything can help the person regain a sense of stability. 3. Look, listen, and link: Try to understand together with the survivor what they need at this time to be okay and help them proceed as they perceive they need to. Empower survivors to choose what steps to take next and assist. 4. Offer additional resources for ongoing support: Getting up from traumatic events requires ongoing support. Provide relevant information about resources in the community to help carry them through the days to come. Psychological First Aid can't undo a tragedy and walk back time, but it can offer a lifeline, changing the way survivors experience crisis, and putting them on a trajectory of resilience. #resilience #psychologicalfirstaid #mentalhealth #mentalresilience #grief #grievingprocess
