Me and the fam came out earlier this morning to Take Space - Celebrating the Miracle of Enduring Black Joy. It was an event to recognize the importance of the Black community having the ability to be involved in sports that haven’t always been an inviting space for Black folk; in understanding that we as Black and brown people belong wherever we choose to be, which is everywhere! For me, growing up as a Mexican kid in Southeast SD, marathon and tri was completely unkown to me. It was all about the major sports. So when I started doing endurance sports almost 15 years ago, I would often feel like I was the only brown person rolling up to races. While the SD endurance sports landscape has become more diversified over the years, the lack of diversity with something as simple as running becomes more apparent when traveling to other cities. Props to gen Z because they stand fearless in doing things that aren't typically things that we as Black and Brown people traditionally do. So I’m hopeful at what their future holds within endurance sports. Whether they learned that from our peers that we might’ve seen as different or weird growing up or because of a more welcoming environment in their own lives, it’s something that we can glean from them in getting our fellow gen X and older Millenial peers to understand that we can stretch beyond the norms that were shown to us as kids and that it’s not too late to take better control of our health and wellness and try something different. Events like today are great in seeing all of these dope ambassadors for running and health come together and realize that we’re making an impact in our own families and communities - taking the stigma away and showing the wider world? that we belong. What will you sacrifice to be at your best when it matters? The opening ceremony for the Olympics is a huge celebration and one of the best platforms for self promotion that many athletes will ever have. Simone Biles stayed home to rest and prepare for Sunday’s competition. She understands what is important and sacrifices to be at her best when it matters. It’s easy to think “I can do both”, but something is always sacrificed. When not properly rested I lack focus,attention to detail and struggle with phrasing. To often I do not even know what I am sacrificing when I choose something for immediate gratification. How do you recognize and prioritize what’s truely important? How do you teach this recognition of choice and consequence to your children?

Brandon Todd, born on August 13, 1985, in Cambridge, Ohio, is renowned for his exceptional vertical leap and ability to dunk a basketball despite his height of 5'5". He was a four-year starter on the Cambridge High School basketball team and later became a standout player at Muskingum College. I partly agree with Marco Pfeiffer. ??? The reason why the snowflakes (and the rest the OP named) have better chances on the job market is: companies don't want anyone who thinks for themselves. You shall just be smart enough to follow orders. If you are any smarter, and put in an effort, you are not interesting for companies anymore, because the boss will be afraid you might undermine his position. They rather hire somebody young and naive, who is melleable like play-dough and costs half than you (because they are bachelor, not master). "Educate yourself, build multiple streams of income and act smarter" - he makes it sound so easy. But at the same time you have to earn a living (rent, electricity, food) and find the fees for education - this is impossible for about 90% of the population, at least until money grows on trees one day. My opinion: to survive on earth today (or to "build the american dream" as he says) is harder than ever now.

In honor of March Madness, I wanted to express exactly what the sport of basketball has done for not only my kids but also for me as a spectator. Sixteen years of soccer made me an athlete, but I had no idea what to expect when my kids laced up their shoes and stepped onto that court. The game of basketball took hold of me almost immediately; the pace, the excitement, and the absolutely mind-blowing athleticism! If my team isn't playing, I'll watch anyone who is. That is the kind of fan I am. So, what does this have to do with appraising? If you take your joy and compare it side by side with just about anything, you will find similarities, strategies, and eventually the sought-after triumph. My role is to make our team successful, to train them properly, have a concrete game plan, and, as much as possible, come away with a win. And in the event that victory is not attainable, we watch and review life's film and try again!

Team rankings are important, but how we perceive and rank ourselves as individuals can damage our inner hero. Bear's high school lacrosse season is set to begin in four weeks. Let's Go!!! Our high school team was ranked sixth nationally in the preseason poll conducted by Inside Lacrosse. Achieving national recognition as a lacrosse team is dependent on ?past performances ?the number of returning starters ?where the players will continue to play after high school. Ranking ourselves as individuals can be detrimental if we base our worth solely on ?financial status ?physical health ?children's affection towards us These things are subject to change and may evolve. Instead, what if we rank ourselves based on how ? we have helped someone ? we have taken steps to improve our physical and mental fitness ? we have made our children feel good about themselves, regardless of their errors. Unleashing our inner hero does not require comparison. We can leave that to team sports. We can unveil our inner hero by sharing and honoring what we have to give. Week 2 of my Duke Men’s Basketball: Race, Sport & Education is in the books! I absolutely love teaching this course. I created it to think deeply just how much Duke Men’s Basketball over the last century is filled with racial questions and histories. For example: What does Tobacco Road mean? Who performed the labor? Why did Jalen Rose call Grant Hill and other Black players “Uncle Toms”? Why are we enfactuated with the “White Villain” on Duke’s teams? What is Duke’s integration story? There are many more. What questions do you have about Duke Men’s Basketball? The students are dope too. Most of them are Duke Men’s Basketball fans, Cameron Crazies, tenters, and walking encyclopedias on Duke Basketball. They take it serious and add to the discussions. Also, the Men’s basketball players add so much to the class because it’s about them! Their engagement is essential to the course because most times they are talked about and talked at. The first thing to notice is the tension, energy and serious effort put in by athletes struggling for the finish line with the hope of winning. To win requires steady, intense concentration or focus of the runners. They cannot afford to become distracted by anything, if they do, they will miss the mark.An athlete religiously follows a rigorous program schedule each day: He rises at a certain hour, eats break fast of certain foods, fills his morning with exercises and works on his technique. After a planned lunch, he continues training, eats a third planned meal and goes to bed at a specified hour. Throughout, the athlete must also abstain from many legitimate things that simply do not fit into his programme. An athlete who is serious about excelling in his chosen sport must live this way.
