Here's a simple trick I implemented a while back to get the most out of my Friday afternoons (while also making it easier to fully disconnect over the weekend). Step 1: Add a recurring, 15-minute block to your calendar on Friday afternoon sometime between 3 and 5pm and title it "Next Week Planning" Step 2: At that same time every week, pour yourself a glass of your favorite beverage. If you are a long time listener of my pod, you already know mine is Topo Chico Step 3: Spend 15-minutes looking at what you've got on the calendar for the week ahead. I color-code my calendar to help me prioritize, make sure you've got agendas for each key meeting and be sure to block time for important tasks/deliverables. Be sure to also block out any time for breaks and personal time i.e. doctor visits etc. Step 4: Head into your weekend confident that you invested time (that may otherwise have been unproductive) to prepare for the coming week, allow yourself time to rest, disconnect and get rid of the "Sunday Scaries" How do you like to finish out your work week?

As we get closer to the holidays, I know how easy it is for teams to lose steam. Balancing work, year-end deadlines, and personal plans can be a lot. I’ve seen it happen, and I’ve been there myself. But this is when the magic happens—the final push that can turn a good year into a great one. A few things I’ve found helpful: ??Breaking down big tasks into small, daily wins ??Celebrating those wins (seriously, a little acknowledgment goes a long way) ??Making sure everyone feels supported—work and life can get busy, and balance is key. How are you keeping your team motivated during this season? I’d love to hear what’s working for you! Let’s finish strong together.

It's often the seemingly minor moments that can entirely transform our outlook on life. ?? ? Recently, my schedule has been full of meetings. I've found myself constantly on the move, seizing brief pauses to catch up on work from my laptop. This routine isn't new to me. ? However, last week I had a sudden burst of clarity. During a five-minute break, I looked out of my hotel room window in Hamburg, and just let everything sink in. Such moments are quite rare but so important. ? We often find ourselves caught in a relentless cycle, hurrying from one meeting to the next, squeezing productivity out of every spare moment. ? But when do we pause to ? ?? see the big picture again instead of getting lost in the details? ?? contemplate whether we're on the correct path? ?? question why we are doing what we do? ?? simply take a moment and appreciate what we accomplished so far? ??And understand that we are just such a small piece of this beautiful world? ? That’s what I love these small breaks for, and I will certainly train to enjoy them more often! ? What about you? When was the last time you allowed yourself a moment to truly pause and reflect on where you are and where you're heading?

?? Time zones have a significant impact on balancing our days. Sharing my two cents here for those who face similar challenges — founders, people who collaborate with colleagues overseas, ... Living in the Tel Aviv time zone (GMT+3) while also working daily on Pacific Time (GMT-7) ?? basically overrides simple but important rituals like family dinners. As a result, I rarely get to spend dinner time with my kids during the weekdays. But this is part of the tradeoff we chose ??♂?. For the past few years, my family and I have spent a few months during the summer between PST and EST. It’s another tradeoff we make, and while there are many business benefits to my presence here, I’m seeing the huge impact on "the balance". 1 metric can tell the story: ?? last month, I only missed one dinner with my family ?? (our SKO was the exception ?? ). + Sundays ?? which is a different topic (image bellow from Whistler). Moral of the story? ?? Tradeoffs aren’t constants. They may require a different dimension, but many factors can help you re-balance.

Monday is my favorite day of the week! Hot take, I know, but here's why: I celebrate minimum-effort Mondays. (That doesn't mean I don't do anything). -I work from home on Mondays -I avoid scheduling meetings on Mondays -I focus on quick and small tasks (like checking the brand inbox & unsubscribing from those mailing lists) -I preview the meeting agendas for the rest of the days this week -I dedicate some time to content ideation -I set my goals and tasks for the rest of the week This is the best way to ease back into the work week. btw: Monday is the best day for setting new goals!
