I knew Black business stats, but thank you Samantha Katz for educating me further on the landscape. Put in that broader perspective, the Black business figures are more alarming and disappointing. Part of the 5th Industrial Revolution (#5thIR) outlines how to scale local news digital services and revenue capabilities, delivering new business models to underserved cities. The Black Media Initiative (BMI) is crucial in shaping the future of local news. By connecting local newsrooms through a 'federation,' they can scale problem-solving, technology, and revenue. This ensures millions of unrepresented voices are heard now and in the future, making history impossible to restrict and local progress impossible to ignore. (Isn't this also 50% of the solution for today's political division?) Corporate #businesstransformation wasn't about #activism, and neither is #socialtransformation. However, transforming local communities is more challenging and requires smarter work, as all #socialinfrastructure and innovation must create new local processes and product opportunities.
