So I thought last year, let's do something good with Lunar New Year. And in speaking to some of the parents and starting to get some feedback, I learned that this year is actually the Year of the Dragon. And I thought, oh, let's, let's just put these plans on hold. I want to do something big, but let's let's, you know, give it some time and we'll approach it next year and giving myself an entire year to marinate on the idea. Of. Some kind of three-dimensional dragon grew into this. Which you first came to me with this idea. I was like super doubtful. It was, it was a really cool idea. And instantly the first thing I thought of was like, this is gonna be a lot of work. Like it's gonna be a lot of math, It's gonna be a lot of collaboration, but it's going to be awesome. We're going to get it done and it's going to be something that everyone's going to be proud of, like in the whole community. And I knew for sure that like this idea, while it's like super far fetched, we always like bring it down and like make it manageable. And I knew that as soon as we like delegated the task that it was going to be like a like not a breeze. But it was going to be significantly more manage. So the belly scales that you see here, those were all made by DK and K. They used rulers on a sheet of paper to draw straight lines and then they trace their lines in oil path cell and put a watercolor wash over the entire thing. And then first grade and 2nd grade create the bass scale also using rulers and creating patterns by using curved lines on replicating the carp scales that are part of the dragon. 3rd grade had a massive job. They created these auspicious clouds and some of our three-dimensional auspicious clouds, as well as the midsection of the dragon. So they took a flat piece of cardboard, they scored it to turn it into a cylinder. They glued on the skin of the dragon that first, second and DKK created and made the red scales on the back. And then 4th grade had the challenge of. Really looking at the eastern dragon, looking at the different animal components and bringing that to life through their imagination. So they brainstormed what materials they needed. They brainstormed how it would look. They got into teams and each took on different sections. So some kids harped on the tongue, some kids worked on the eyes or covering the head and scales. So the kids worked on the legs, some kids worked on a tapered tail, and some kids worked on the Pearl. So. We took a large group of kids that gave them smaller tasks that when combined turned into this. I'm still amazed with how it came out and I I'm shocked that you came up with like this, this bloated in your head before quoted 8 classroom. I am kind of surprised, like I I had the idea in my head, but the way that it turned out is actually even better than what I was imagining. I'm really, really proud of what these kids were able to accomplish.
