October was the bloodiest month for Russia in its war against neighboring Ukraine since President Vladimir Putin ordered the invasion in February 2022. #ThreatStatus https://trib.al/5Fsan5f

1000 days of russia’s full scale invasion. 1000 days mr Putin put the unity of our Western democracies on a test that we’re merely passing. The autocratic axis keeps mocking our values, sabotaging our infrastructure, public and political sphere. Stand with Ukraine as long as it takes was the incorrect approach from its very beginning. Neutralizing the russian war machine must remain our key objective if we want peace on our continent and beyond it.

The invasion of parts of Russia exacerbates a dilemma that the Kremlin has faced since the start of its full-scale invasion: whether to portray Russia’s war on Ukraine as an existential fight to the death with the west and a prelude to world war three, or whether to suggest it is a local conflict fully under control and nothing for anyone to worry about https://lnkd.in/eMJXQ8D9

Frontline in Ukraine before and after russian invasion. It’s Ukraine’s terrotory only, not russia’s. When you hear russian lies about the reasons to invade Ukraine, remember these pictures before and after. russia has come to Ukraine to kill and occupy. And to create a “sanitary zone” as putin and russian propagandists say. A devastated area, free of people. Free of life. #russiaterroriststate #russianwarcrimes #stoprussia #stoprussianaggression #stopwarinukraine

The Economist writes that Ukraine has lost almost 50% of its territory in the Kursk region. There are two important observations to be made. First, the russians have an advantage in manpower and weapons. And they are throwing everything they have to gain as much territory as possible before the alleged “negotiations.” Second, this is an asymmetric war. Ukraine has made the right decision to capture part of the Kursk region. Holding even a small part of russian terrestrial is a colossal defeat for Putin.

"The CIA controls the special services of Ukraine": How #propaganda imposes the narrative of "external governance" Kremlin propagandists assure that U.S. intelligence, together with the CIA, has been influencing all the special services of Ukraine since the Revolution of Dignity. And even now, during the russian full-scale invasion, all operations in Ukraine are managed by the U.S. This is a complete raving because U.S.organizations help Ukraine repel Putin's aggression in the informational field on partnership terms. ??How and why russian propaganda spreads this lie, find out in the video ?? https://spravdi.gov.ua #supportUkraine????

The invasion of Russia by Ukraine is a significant event, but what are the implications? Does Ukraine stand a real chance of winning, or is this move aimed at rallying more support from Western nations? How will Putin respond to this invasion? Additionally, what actions might Trump or Kamala Harris take as President to bring this conflict to an end? Colonel Douglas Macgregor, a well-connected and outstanding expert in global politics, provides sharp and incisive analysis.

Good idea
In 2016, Putin famously declared: "Russia has no borders!" Ukraine has followed Putin’s invitation and attacked Kursk. In two weeks, Ukraine captured 1,150 square kilometers and 82 settlements. More than 2,000 russian soldiers have already surrendered in Kursk.

It sounds rather wishful, for a belligerent power like Russia to make territorial demands in order to accept a ceasefire, which it is not able to support with a military advantage on the ground. War, as probably all practical people should now, is a "way to pursue diplomacy by other means", namely military violence. That is the issue: Vladimir Putin does not have the contractual force to require a capitulation; only an armistice. Those who learnt a little history know, since the 1938 Munich conference, that conceding territories for annexation to an expansionist militaristic power may not only fail to appease that power, but actually weaken the victim country; and usually, within a year or two, that militaristic power could return for the kill. To be candid, that's not an appealing deal to bring to table. Of course, if Putin had supported those demands with a knee solidly on Ukraine's chest and a knife point at its throat, the international community might have given more serious consideration to them. But since most of Putin's argumentation so far has been run-of-the-mill woke ideology, i.e. loudly weeping that he has been mistreated, excluded and triggered by American white supremacists, the only polite reply could be that ????, there will be no armistice until he changes his ways. However, I would refuse to suggest that Putin is actually being a snowflake, since he is an ex-KGB agent, demonstrated his ability to ruthlessly seize power and maintain himself, and his troops on the ground are behaving as Bashi-bazuks. It would be more reasonable to think that he is not interested in making "peace", with Ukraine; only to consolidate what little he conquered. This PR underdog posture has been for the benefit of Western media journalists on both sides of the Pond, to inspire sympathy for his cause. Putin should, however, watch out for one risk: if he lets the other powers such as the US and the EU imagine too freely at Bürgenstock what will happen after the war with Ukraine (and by consequence with Russia), some of the participants could go ahead and do exactly that... and decide to reconvene in, say, Casablanca, Teheran, and lastly in Yalta, to agree on how to redraw the sphere of influence lines in the Black Sea, as well as central and eastern Asia. Who knows that there couldn't be good arguments -- such as the Amur River region and Mongolia -- for luring China to the negotiation table? And -- far from me any desire to advocate such things! -- but didn't Poland, Venice and Germany, at different moments of history, immensely regret that they had not been more active in making close friends in Europe with diplomacy? Remaining aloof while others are actively discussing how to reorganize the geopolitical map of a continent could be a very bad course of action indeed for a great power, whether in peace or at war. Perhaps (I say perhaps) it might be in Russia's interest to participate a little more to the ongoing ceasefire discussions?
Just in: Russian president Vladimir Putin has said Russia will immediately cease fire and begin negotiations to end the war in Ukraine if Kyiv withdraws troops from four frontline regions. https://on.ft.com/4c4Dkrd

Russia's actions leave no doubt: Putin is waging war, not seeking peace. Every week, Russian forces target Ukrainian civilians and critical infrastructure, escalating their aggression with support from North Korea and Iran. But Ukraine's Victory Plan, based on the principle of 'peace through strength', shows the way forward. By strengthening Ukraine and uniting global resolve, we can stop the aggressor and achieve a just and lasting peace. Peace comes through strength — and that strength will stop the aggressor.?

https://lnkd.in/gGsaNCve "We must always be concerned, but I don't think that [china]'s the biggest threat at the moment. The big threat to world security, to oil security, and to energy security is obviously russia. russia's supported by iran more than anybody else. Their interests coincide very, very strongly -- in the Middle East, as much as anywhere else. So, I think the attack by hamas, the appalling attack by hamas, into Israel, was directed after russian influence took its place. There was a meeting between the leaders of iran and russia, two weeks before the hamas attack. It was a deliberate distraction, to take world attention away from what's going on in Ukraine ... And it's still going on ... So, it's a successful way, on the global stage, of actually distracting people away from the big war -- the big war is taking place in Ukraine. The most important war -- the biggest threat to Western democracy is the war in Ukraine. And I wish the world media would pay far more attention to that again." -- Robin Edward Horsfall. 2nd Battalion, Parachute Regiment; SAS Veteran. #ukraine #russia #iran #syria #hamas
