I've been paid to coach C-level executives and I'm proud of that. Although it will NEVER compare to how proud + grateful I am to coach my son and his team. As the final whistle blew I pointed to the sky to thank the big guy. We did it. CHAMPIONSHIP! It was an epic night that seemed like a movie script. Friday night lights in our first season of Flag Football. First game was won in the final minutes. Next up.... The championship was won in OT on the final play. Winning is awesome but that's not what was important to me this season. What was important to me was helping these kids grow their confidence and feel like they belong on the field with the best of them. Mission accomplished. My son said it was the best night of his life. Since that day he's I've noticed a shift. He's more confident in his abilities now that he's seen the results. It took him a long time to believe in himself, but now I'm seeing it. All it took as a Father to help him was to show him I believe in him and continue to lovingly nudge him into situations that challenge him safely. Believe in your kids and they will do amazing things. Don't rush it though. It'll all happen when the time is right. ?
Congrats. We have our “boarder battle” this weekend. Mass champ vs NH champ.
So awesome Angelo Great memory right here! He's growing through his own processes & with a ciach like you, he'll be just fine man ????
Being on that field with your son is infinitely more fun and meaningful! That's what it's all about! Angelo Melchiorre
Do we really have to compare? Like when you compare your marriage to your friends. Both are vital but different. Coaching adults and kids, they're both important. No? Or is it just the subjective emotional experience you're talking about? Angelo Melchiorre
We were down 0-1 facing a penalty kick that would put us down 0-2, but rallied to win the ?? 5-1. We finished the season 8-0 . Exciting and fun to be able to help kids win through the lesson of hard work and dedication to getting better.
This is epic ???? I’ll always cherish the memories of my dad coaching me. Something I’m so excited to bring to my kids.
So awesome to support your kids that way. Fun to see their growth and excitement, win or lose. (But congrats on the win - that if fun too!)
Angelo happy for you two. Amazing for both of you when the effort pays off and yes, the trophy is nice, but the real win is who you've become in the process.
Awhhhhhh how we pour into our children has a ripple effect. ??
