Choose Wines with broad appeal. Offer a mix of red, white, and sparkling wines to suit different preferences, and for broad appeal. Select versatile crowd-pleasers like unoaked white (Sauvignon Blanc always works well), a medium bodied red (Spanish reds are great here), or Prosecco to add to the celebratory feel. 2. Perfect the Serving Temperature Chill whites, rosés, and sparkling wines to fridge temperature - 4-6°C is perfect. Serve reds slightly cool, around 15-18°C (60-65°F), this will enhance flavours and aromas. > If you're short on time and space, you can use a bin or bucket to chill the wine in, half fill it with water and top up with ice. 3. Provide the Right Glassware Don't panic about wine glasses. You can use the same glass for reds and whites, and if they don't all match, the chances are you are the only person who will notice ! The only exception is for Champagne or sparkling glasses, the tall and narrow ones preserve bubbles. >If you’re short on matching glassware, don’t stress—a clean glass always trumps the perfect style! 4. Plan Quantities Thoughtfully Budget for approximately half a bottle per guest for a casual party, such as a Confirmation or Communion, or one bottle per guest if it's a longer dinner party. My honour to receive a nice bottle of wine from a friend; Rymill Cabernet Sauvignon 2013. Mood to back to basic arose. Brought out all my wine glasses and do tasting. From the photo there was only one glass was Pinot Noir Glass. WHY I used Pinot Noir Glass on Cabernet Sauvignon wine??? 1. To recap the wine taste and enable myself to explain to those who love to drink wines based on GLASS SHAPE and not the actual glass functionality. 2. Monitor closely the attached picture, all were Cabernet Sauvignon glasses except the front left is New World Pinot Noir Glass. 3. Although the rest were Cabernet Sauvignon glasses, but i did got slight differences in taste and aroma. In this post I don't want to elaborate deeper about the wine but I would like to summarise that: 1. Enjoy wine with Crystal Glass is the right choice??. 2. Different shape of wine glasses may give you differrence aroma and taste. 3. Choose the right glass for the wine you are enjoying. Reason: Do not waste the effort of winemakers that they would like you to experience of. In The Avenue restaurant at Lainston House we have a Coravin system. It is a very helpful tool which I use most days during service, so I thought I would share a bit more about it. ??It is a small machine which allows you to pour wine from a bottle without removing the cork. This means that the rest of the wine in the bottle can be kept for weeks, or even months afterwards without spoiling. Therefore, I am able to serve glasses of our more unusual and expensive wines without needing to open the whole bottle. ??An excellent white wine that I often serve using the Coravin is the Chablis Premier Cru Les Forneaux; this is the wine in the picture below, with the Coravin system in use. It is listed on the wine list at £117- due to the Coravin, guests are still able to enjoy just a glass at a time. ?? One of the most exclusive red wines on the list, the Tignanello, is also able to be enjoyed by the glass. This iconic Supertuscan is world-renowned and it is really exciting to be able to offer guests the opportunity to try it at a more accessible price point. ??How it works ?? The way that the Coravin works is that it has a thin, hollow needle that you insert through the cork. The needle is sharp enough to pierce the cork without causing any damage to it. Once the needle is inside the bottle, a small amount of inert gas (usually argon) is injected inside. Argon is an odourless and tasteless gas that is heavier than oxygen, which prevents oxygen from coming into contact with the wine. Once the wine has been poured from the Coravin, you remove the needle from the cork. The cork naturally reseals itself due to its elasticity, preventing any additional air from entering the bottle. #coravin #wine #lainstonhouse #exclusivecollection #tignanello
