Australian tech giant Canva revealed the rising AI use in its New Year, New Job report, which also showed most hiring managers would like to see AI use disclosed on job applications.?

AI is helping recruiters in their jobs of finding the right candidates for the right positions, so why shouldn't candidates use AI for their job search? In my opinion as long as the AI you are using is used as a crouch to help you walk through the job search process and help you word your qualities and achievements the best way possible, it is ok to use AI.

Oh well, we blew past the phase of recruiters being wary of telling people to apply with #AI very quickly and are apparently now fully into the "absolutely use AI" ?? zone already. That moved fast ???. I guess once recruiters realised they could sell AI services to applicants that sped things up somewhat. Research in this #ft article cites that 57% per cent of Gen Z workers say they are using AI to write job applications, CVs and cover letters. For millennials the figure is 40%, for Gen X and baby boomers 21% and 13%. As many companies turn to automated AI ATS scans (applicant tracking systems) to sift through hundreds of applications looking for keywords and phrases, you have recruiters trying to sell AI services to candidates like CV generator's that claim to “easily pass ATS scans”. AI sifting stacks of applications for companies, and AI's used by candidates scoring more highly because they use AI to ramp up their number of keyword "hits" - and humans looking at the end result and output, dismissing ever increasing AI generated applications as being bland and generic. Who would have thought #Recruitment would be the first to hit AI dystopia?
