??The vine will produce a bunch of grapes in the right season Through the years, the grapes will be harvested but come the right season the vine will produce another buch of grapes Doing a full time role on a part contract is comes with it's challenges, but the job and the deed os focussing is creating the environment for producing the grapes I took this video in seven months ago when I last taugt. The ladt sevrn months being in management and leadership has been about creating the environment for future vines - development work, partnership building, reviewing the curriculum and whether it meets the needs and putting myself ar the centre with the learner. Whar do they want to achieve beyond the short time they will be with us, smd beyond the good deed we will do before moving on to the next deed and another class. Yep, it's a season with high demands as one Academic year is concluded and summer hols are looking. A nod to all the educators ???????????? What happened: I journal, yet to be more consistent ?? C@nn@bis education courses and offerings ! Is there any list floating around of the various course offerings for certificate or degree programs for the industry. Doing a deep dive into this ! Anyone have any current resources on this ? Looking for national as well as international courses ! Looking to create a living document with school name , location , courses , degree and costs ! I feel with more and more coming online ? To have a database with this information could be so helpful. I live in an area where we have an amazing c@nn@bis and culinary school is 10 minutes away from me. People need to know where to get the education and the offerings , from consumers , business owners, to health care providers. Once the list is compiled it can then be used as a real resource. Awesome to attend 10 year #CornellReunion last weekend! (And visit the Ithaca waterfalls and bagel shop I’ve missed.) Plus, it was very introspective - after a decade in the real world. Some top of mind reflections?: ? My perception on many folks' careers after a decade: 0-5 years out from college: folks do what they *think* makes them happy (often, money + prestige, via established career paths). 5-10 years out: folks start doing what actually makes them happy (and aligns with more specific interests). This varies of course. ?Andrew Ross Sorkin '99 spoke. Biggest takeaway: sharing his life-hack quote from the 2015 movie 'Bridge of Spies'. Tom Hanks asks a captured spy: "aren't you worried?" to which the spy responds, "would it help?" It's a great mantra to channel mental energy only on productive things. ? Cornell (uniquely) offers a winemaking major.... and it was awesome to check out the updated teaching winery. My wine production class, and concepts like vineyard irrigation, have stuck with me a decade later. [Cue some lesson about life satisfaction + exploring creative pursuits.] ? About that University Swim Test. I passed the spot students take a 75 yard aquatic test to graduate. Since 1905, faculty agreed: "if you're going to get a Cornell diploma you've got to know how to swim — a critical life skill". Unconventional, maybe. But sometimes top-down leadership can be refreshing. Sort of a “just eat your vegetables” type vibe. ? Looking back - The things I didn't love in college were more helpful than the things I loved. Example: Working in DC at the Treasury for a semester was fun, but I wasn't enamored with theoretical macroeconomic policy. I'm grateful college gave me the chance to test drive different paths.

People are temporary, and that's okay. Some will stay, some will go but their presence or absence doesn't determine your value. As you continue evolving on your journey, understand that certain souls are only meant to briefly walk alongside you for a reason or season. Don't let their departure diminish your light. Those divine connections who appreciate your whole, authentic self? They're the precious few meant to remain by your side through it all. Embrace the ebb and flow with grace.
