As a self-published author, marketing my books is challenging. I published in 2018, but my books have not sold well. Consequently, I have set up an online shop to market them, and hacked down the prices, by nearly 30% for each of the hardbound and softbound, and slashed the price of the e-Book from $9.99 to $1.99, or by about 80%. The book has been well received and garnered a "GET IT" recommendation from Kirkus Reviews. The book is titled Lee Lawrie's Prairie Deco: History in Stone at the Nebraska State Capitol, 4th Edition. It is richly illustrated, mostly with my photographs, but also with many photos from various libraries and archives. It covers mostly art history and architecture history, but it also ventures into many related areas, that reveal the history that took place to develop our American brand of Democracy. WorldCat has it available in 32 libraries nationwide. The book is print-on-demand so supplies are limited. Fortitude were named by Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia during the Great Depression to symbolize the resilience and strength of New Yorkers. The library’s construction began in 1899, and it took 12 years to complete. When it opened its doors on May 23, 1911, it was the largest marble structure in the U.S.! Even President William Howard Taft laid its cornerstone, and J.P. Morgan, one of America’s wealthiest men, was there at the grand opening. ?? The library’s Rose Main Reading Room is so massive, it spans two city blocks, making it one of the largest reading rooms in the world! The NYPL's collections include rare medieval manuscripts, ancient Japanese scrolls, and other historical documents that have inspired and informed scholars, artists, and writers.
