We’re proud to help ensure our local residents have emergency kits when they need them most. Community support truly makes a difference! Thanks to everyone who helped!

Rye Senior Advocacy Committee Helps Seniors Prepare for Emergencies ? Thanks to a generous grant from the Rye Women’s Club, the Rye Senior Advocacy Committee assembled 24 emergency backpacks to help local seniors stay prepared in the event of an evacuation due to fire, flooding, hurricanes, or other disasters. ? This important initiative was led by Committee Co-Chairs Michele Thomas, CSA? of Osborn Home Care - New York and Fairfield County, CT, and Nancy Haneman, with Barbara Brunner spearheading research and coordination efforts in collaboration with Port Chester, Rye, and Rye Brook EMS, as well as members of Explorer Post 77. ? The first five backpacks were delivered to residents of Rye Manor, with Mayor Josh Cohn and resident Kathleen McGuire in attendance. Members of Explorer Post 77 assisted in the effort, highlighting the community’s dedication to supporting and protecting its senior population. This initiative reflects the power of community collaboration in ensuring the safety and well-being of our senior residents, and we’re honored to be part of it.
