Our non-profit is dedicated to supporting other non-profits, and we've found an innovative way to do just that while providing valuable experiential learning opportunities for Junior-Seniors in IT Consulting or Project Management at the University of Houston. Here's how it works: We pair non-profits that have defined technology needs with teams of talented technology students. This creates a powerful multiplier effect, enabling students to gain hands-on experience while helping non-profits overcome their technology challenges. These projects are critical to the students' coursework, ensuring they graduate with the skills and experience needed to succeed in their careers. But we need your help to keep this program thriving and growing. Here are three ways you can get involved: 1. Become a Project Mentor: Share your expertise and guide student teams as they work on real-world projects. Your knowledge and experience can make a tremendous difference in their learning journey. 2. Make a Donation: Your financial support is crucial to sustaining and expanding this program. Every contribution helps us provide more opportunities for students and non-profits alike. 3. Spread the Word: We're looking to partner with additional universities interested in incorporating this program into their curriculum. There has been a lot of buzz over the MacKenzie Scott and Yield Giving donations this week and rightly so. But all I can think about is HOW are those non-profits going to prepare themselves for that level of growth? ?What systems and processes will enable them to deliver more impact? ?How will they deliver on more sustainable and supportive commitments to their own people and teams? ?How will they maintain momentum or solidify their new position, once the donation is used? Not every organization gets a transformative gift. But lots of small nonprofits and startups are tackling unanticipated growth. And, if you don't strengthen your foundation first, you only increase your risk to fall. Your people and teams are everything. Make sure they're resourced, clear, and thriving. Supporting WONDER GIRLS USA is more than just a charitable act; it’s an investment in our future. As someone deeply passionate about leadership, education, and gender equality, I can personally vouch for the impact that programs like these have on young girls. By providing leadership and business development workshops, mentorship from successful women, and access to college preparation resources, WONDER GIRLS USA equips girls with the tools they need to break through the glass ceiling and achieve their dreams. In a world where gender stereotypes and systemic barriers still exist, initiatives like WONDER GIRLS USA are imperative in fostering a generation of confident, empowered women leaders.

What would be possible for our relationships and communities if we courageously address the topics we've been avoiding? Successful movements require challenging conversations - what would be possible if we could get through those moments in a generative and loving way? What does it look like to have some of the conversations we’ve been avoiding or are afraid to have? This two-part series is on difficult conversations and centered around principle #6 of the Community Centric Fundraising principles. These transformative workshops will take place on: May 23rd and June 6th, from 10 - 12pm PST. Many of us shy away from challenging conversations, fearing potential strain on relationships with donors, colleagues, or friends. As a result, embracing this principle often proves to be one of the most daunting yet impactful steps in our journey. To enact meaningful change, we must confront the characteristics of white supremacy culture that perpetuate fear of conflict, perfectionism, and the pressure to always be "nice." By shattering our fragility, we unlock the path to liberation and authentic connection. I helped Melanie reframe how she presented budgets to school districts, making them easier to understand, and reignited her vision for the organization. With some strategic moves, Fostering Dreams expanded from 20 schools to 111 across LA County! ?? Together, we reached out to government officials, positioning Fostering Dreams as a valuable community resource. The result? A $30,000 grant that helped them keep going strong. ????
