The Significance of a Beginning “Too often, we overlook the significance of a beginning.” This profound statement, shared during my church’s Christmas production, stirred something deep within me. It reminded me of the scripture: “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin” (Zechariah 4:10, NLT). As we prepare to close out 2024 and step into 2025, let’s pause to reflect on this truth. Every beginning holds power. Whether it’s a small step, an unseen effort, or a quiet act of faith, God sees and rejoices over the start. Beginnings may seem humble, but they are seeds of greatness waiting to grow. This year may have brought challenges, victories, or even a mixture of both, but as we embrace a new year, let’s honor the beauty of starting again. Let’s celebrate the courage it takes to plant, dream, and believe—even when the world doesn’t yet see the fruit. Take pride in your progress, no matter how small. Feel the joy of knowing that every beginning is an opportunity for growth, transformation, and God’s glory to shine. And allow the revelation that God cherishes every step of your journey to inspire your outlook for 2025. Let us walk into this new season with faith, hope, and purpose. Let us dare to begin again and trust that the One who started a good work in us will carry it to completion (Philippians 1:6). Here’s to a year of new beginnings and endless possibilities! It’s the middle of January already, and the excitement of a new year is starting to blend with the reality of daily life. ?? For many of us, the vision for 2025 is crystal clear; or maybe it’s still unfolding. Wherever you stand, one thing remains vital: the need to trust and follow God in the process.? Vision is powerful, but it’s also incomplete without faith. It’s easy to map out goals and milestones, but what happens when the unexpected occurs? When challenges arise or doors open in ways we didn’t anticipate? That’s where trusting God comes in.? Proverbs 16:9 reminds us, “In their hearts, humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” This verse highlights the beautiful balance between our responsibility to dream and plan and God’s role in guiding and aligning us with His purpose.? This year, I’ve resolved to not only pursue my vision with clarity but also to lean into God’s direction, even when it means adjusting my plans. Trusting Him doesn’t mean abandoning strategy—it means embracing obedience and faith as key parts of the journey.??? As we reach the midway point of 2024, many people are reflecting on the first half of the year and setting intentions for the rest of it. I believe it's important to consider your values as you reflect on your achievements, setbacks, and progress toward your goals. By doing so, you might find that it eases the pressure or motivates you to take a new approach for the upcoming months. For example, if you have yet to achieve a certain goal, such as learning a new language, it could be because you prioritised supporting family members experiencing challenges. That's still the first six months of 2024 well spent because you remained authentic to your values and focused on what matters most to you. It's also crucial to consider your values and how they influence your reflection process. As a person of Christian faith, I intend to prayerfully reflect on the year so far. Reflecting on my life without God would feel like a missed opportunity to live out my faith. Happy reflecting!
