Politics is not my forte, but the hope of Ghana progressing should be everybody’s priority. If we don’t get it right this time, I fear for our nation’s survival. Ghana frustrates me. Ghana gives me sleepless nights. Ghana struggles with combating illegal mining (Galamsey), corruption, unemployment and economic hardships *How are we surviving as a collective?* Because at the core of all these issues is a *Leadership Crisis.* Echoing a quote, I read from US former president Barack Obama many years ago, "If the people cannot trust their government to do the job for which it exists - to protect them and to promote their common welfare - all else is lost." Unfortunately, Ghana and Africa’s governments have largely failed to safeguard and promote the citizens’ wellbeing. However, I do not believe all is lost yet, and it for this reason I have decided to dedicate the last years of my life to revolutionize the mindset of the African leader. After the challenges of the UT Bank and its subsidiaries, I have been on a mission of grooming young leaders that can: ? Drive transformative change ? Promote social justice ? Empower communities ? Shape a brighter African future As daunting as this mission is my team and I are resolute in shaping the narrative of leadership in Ghana ???? and Africa. ?? YESTERDAY, as Nigeria marked another Independence Day, it was a time to reflect on the importance of peace and freedom of belief. In a country as diverse as ours, these values are key to our unity and growth. I once met a woman who shared a story of how her family sheltered a neighbor during unrest. Despite their different beliefs, they came together because of their shared humanity. Peace isn’t just about the absence of conflict; it’s about understanding and respecting others. A free nation allows everyone to live and believe without fear or discrimination. As we move forward, let’s build a Nigeria grounded in peace and freedom for all. #FreedomOfReligion #sfcg #FoRb #YouthCare360 Search For Common Ground Nigeria

As Nigeria marks its 64th independence Day, this is what our founder and executive director has to say to his fellow Nigerian youths. "it’s crucial for our youth to recognize the power they hold in shaping the nation’s future. This is not just a celebration of freedom but an opportunity to reflect on the challenges we face and the role young people can play in addressing them. By staying informed about current events, social issues, and governmental policies, you can make educated decisions and contribute to meaningful discussions. Knowledge is a powerful tool; the more you understand your rights and responsibilities, the better equipped you will be to advocate for change. Getting involved goes beyond mere awareness; it involves active participation in your community and nation. Whether through volunteering, joining advocacy groups, or engaging in local governance, every effort counts. Use this independence day as a rallying point to mobilize your peers and initiate conversations about the future you envision for Nigeria. Your voice matters, and by taking action, you not only empower yourself but also inspire others to join the movement for a better Nigeria. This is your time to shine and make a lasting impact. #happy #independence #day #Nigeria #getinvolve #getinform #beactive

Ghana gives me sleepless nights. We are grappling with illegal mining (Galamsey), corruption, unemployment, and economic hardships." - Captain Prince Amoabeng These powerful words from Captain Kofi Amoabeng reflect his deep concern for Ghana’s future, with the core of these problems pointing to one major issue: a leadership crisis. In his message, Captain Amoabeng echoes former US President Barack Obama’s words: "If the people cannot trust their government to do the job for which it exists - to protect them and to promote their common welfare - all else is lost." He highlights how Ghana, and much of Africa, has struggled to live up to this responsibility, but he still holds onto hope for change. After the trials he faced following the collapse of UT Bank and its subsidiaries, Captain Amoabeng has committed himself to grooming a new generation of leaders who will: - Drive transformative change - Promote social justice - Empower communities - Shape a brighter future for Africa Together with his team, he remains steadfast in their mission to reshape the leadership narrative for Ghana ???? and Africa ??. Yesterday, during lunch in Koforidua, I had an insightful conversation with my friend Bob. He asked me a thought-provoking question about the seed sector in Ghana and why it struggles with financial malnourishment. I shared with him my perspective - the sector's focus on individual wealth rather than communal wealth is a key issue. When communities thrive, everyone benefits; however, prioritizing personal gain can lead to widespread impoverishment. I recounted a striking story to Bob to illustrate this point. I told him about a family I know who claim poverty and an inability to support their own, yet freely donate over $50,000 to a stranger out of selfishness and greed. This behavior, celebrating the wrong values and vilifying the good, mirrors the challenges Ghana's seed sector faces. Reflecting on our conversation, it's clear that fostering a mindset of community enrichment over individual gain is crucial for sustainable growth and development in Ghana's seed industry. Let's strive to shift the narrative towards building collective prosperity for all. Truth Stands! #LCIC #SeedBusiness #CommunityWealth #SustainableDevelopment

What I know for sure: 1. Minimalism is important, it cleans you up in and out! It says you do not drag yourself down with unnecessary ‘stuff’ It starts with the external then gets to the internal. 2 Nigeria’s corrupt leaders must realize that part of what they leave for their children is not only ill gotten wealth from public funds, they leave a legacy, a bad name on their children! There are many Nigerians around the world burdened by bad surnames from their parents’ illicit fund acquisition. Their last name have become a deterrent to their progress. Think, all the Nigerians that are infamous for having looted the nation’s funds have children who cannot hold up their heads. They carry the names of children of nationals who failed Nigeria. This is a huge burden to hand over to your children and coming generations. Think and reflect before you steal from Nigeria! #nigeria #africa #arisetv #channel

A Better Nigeria is Possible Until the society stands up against evil, evil will thrive unrestricted. A society which honours corrupt people just to court their favour invariably forges its own destruction and sets its children on the path of corruption. Imagine an academic institution which honours fraudsters (yahoo boys) just to get big donations at their event. We blame our leaders and politicians for the troubles in our country, yet we forget that we raised corrupt citizens who became our leaders. Every society raises leaders who are like itself. A corrupt society will raise corrupt leaders. To raise moral and patriotic leaders who will transform Nigeria, we must raise our sons and daughters and instil in the them the requisite discipline and moral uprightness to become such leaders. A gangster and yahoo boy today if left to his own way may navigate his way to become our President tomorrow. And when he becomes the President, he will continue looting and robbing the entire nation. The family front must become effective if we are to combat this evil and change the narrative in our nation. We need strong men in the family as fathers who represent strength, discipline, character and integrity. We need fathers who will model the right leadership on the home front, and raise their sons and daughters to become such as they are. We need women as mothers who will not compromise their moral standards regardless of the situation. Parents must boldly model the right leadership if we must have a sane and morally upright society. Our society today is filled with angry, confused, demoralized and undisciplined youths because the standards have dropped in the family. Many of our youths today grew up without a parent to guide them, and so they learned to survive regardless of what becomes of their neighbor or the society. The goal, to them, is simply to survive. We must all rise up and play our part from where we are if we hope to achieve a better society. The responsibility of changing Nigeria rests on you and me. We must each take care of our little corner.

The Ongoing Galamsey Crisis: A Betrayal of Ghana's Future ?? I write today with a heavy heart and a deep sense of urgency. Ghana, our beautiful home, is being ripped apart by the plague of galamsey. This is not just an environmental issue — it is a human crisis, affecting our children, communities, and the very soul of our nation. Illegal mining has become a poison that flows through our rivers, turning life-giving waters into toxic streams. It is time for us to rise and confront this menace, driven by greed and betrayal. Children are dying, either through direct involvement in dangerous pits or from drinking poisoned water. Entire communities are suffering from sickness. This isn’t just about polluted rivers and devastated land; it’s about broken lives and shattered futures. Meanwhile, politicians who promised to end this crisis often profit from it, trading our future for personal gain. What breaks my heart the most is the silence. Politicians who ask for our votes are the same ones selling us out. They look the other way while the land is destroyed, enriching themselves at our expense. The Ankobra and Pra rivers, once symbols of life, are now symbols of death. Our farmers struggle, our children suffer, and our hope diminishes. Young men and women, deprived of real opportunities, are turning to galamsey for survival. Instead of investing in education and sustainable jobs, our leaders have turned their backs on these communities. This is not the Ghana we dream of. We must stand against this. Accountability is essential. Those who profit from the destruction must be held responsible. We need real opportunities, education, and sustainable development. I am passionate about sustainability, and I call on every Ghanaian, every African youth, to rise. We cannot be silent as our future is stolen by the greed of a few. This is our home — let us protect it. The time for action is now. Together, we must fight for a Ghana where every child can drink clean water, every family can thrive, and no one is left behind. #StopGalamseyNow #FreetheCitizens #UNICEF #UN #Ghana #FredSwaniker
