Mental Health Charity Stunt: cycling as far as I can in 24h! With Jonne M?kikyr? , bike from Swapfiets! Sadly, mental health issues weigh heavily on the EU. It's clear that enhancing mental well-being is crucial not only socially but also economically, especially in light of the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Shockingly, the WHO found that during the first year of the pandemic, global rates of anxiety and depression surged by 25%. The goal of this fundraiser is for one of our supporters to bike as far as possible within the 24 hours. The goal is 300 kilometers, but let's see what adventures the journey brings! At the end of the 24 hours, we will donate 1€ for each kilometer cycled! Join the bike ride! There will be regular updates from our friend to the GoFundMe page so you can see what is happening. At the Randal Charitable Foundation one of our core pillars of support is 'mental ill health', which is why Mental Health Awareness Week is such an important campaign for the life-saving work we deliver with our charitable partners. We focus on supporting causes that provide intervention, which tackles the root causes of mental ill-health. This includes helping people living with severe mental health difficulties to recover and then prosper, as well as providing assistance to young people, families and those who find themselves disadvantaged through no fault of their own. We also support causes which come to the aid of those suffering loneliness and isolation. ? Another key focus area is helping the most in need in-order-to prevent suicides, which claim thousands of lives each year in the UK alone. Examples of our work in this area have seen significant support for technology development of a suicide prevention app, the provision of a text service for vulnerable young people and face-to-face appointments with mental health volunteers, as well as support with service and staffing costs to enable the life-saving work of mental health and suicide prevention charities to continue. ? Breaking the cycle of addiction, which destroys lives and affects the whole family, is another priority, and our work in this area is helping addicts to recover, and their families to rebuild their lives. Volunteer your time, skills, or resources at local organizations. 3. Donate to organizations that work to support them. 4. Offer emotional support to families who are struggling. 5. Educate yourself and others about the issues to raise awareness. P.S. It's important to remember that every family is special and unique, no matter where they live or what challenges they may be facing. Whether it's poverty, substance use, food insecurity, trauma, or physical and mental health, many families in every community go through these struggles, and it can put them at risk of breaking down.
